Lol, even i can't believe it.

Obviously not in a row. I've watched it since it came out 4 times.

The first 2 times was quite thrilling, the third was kinda normal, the fourth was because i just replayed doom 3 again.

Ok i agree that it's not the best movie out there, but hey...it's sci-fi, horror, action and it's based on the game.
I kinda like the details...as in the plot revolved around backtracking places, the crew besides being partially idiots was acceptable, certain parts (the nanowall,...)

The rock kinda made it more cheesy, but ok. The 3D scene was not the best, the narrow field of view ruined it.

Personally i'd like a sequel.

side note: Yeah Doom 3 was nice, i have to get the expansion pack.

How could you subject yourself to that kind of punishment?

Considering the source material it's probably the best we were going to get.

Also, I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE

this was one of the worst movies i've seen in my life. no offense but i can name 100 movies that are better than Doom. also I hope you're being sarcastic

But how many VIDEO GAME movies can you name that are better than Doom?

Why would anyone do that to themselves unless it involved copious amounts of alcohol or sexual favors?

I recall the twist being something retarded, like, if you got infected and you were a GOOD GUY you would get super strength, but if you got infected and you were a BAD GUY you turned into a monster.

If you ignore it's ties (if any) to the game, its an average action movie that is enjoyable.

I thought the first person sequence was pretty neat, but thats really all the movie has going for it. That and DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON

That's one of 'em. I'm thinking of one, maybe two others. I say "maybe" two because one I'm thinking of drifts away from the source material, while the other one throws it right out the window.

Final Fantasy and Silent Hill
Unless you're talking about Advent Children, you can't even really call Spirits Within a video game movie. It's a CG movie that Square did and tacked the FF name onto. And Advent Children is fan service, not a movie.

Silent Hill...Silent Hill was pretty good. Better than Doom? I don't think so.

"There's still a small percentage of the human genome that remains unmapped. We have no idea what it is. But what if it was the difference between good and evil? What if it was the soul?"

*Facepalms his head off*

In my opinion Eventhorizon was more similar to Doom's (the game) story idea, with the whole gateway to hell thing. Doom the movie was just HORIBLE. They didn't even get the BFG right FFS!

What?!
It was so much better than Doom, hell, atleast it managed to keep the dark and foreboding atmosphere of the games.

or both movies are shitty. You see, video games are better way to tell a story, you can let player solve a puzzle, or search rooms (optional) for information. You can't do that in a movie. So what they do: take some random elements/characters from the series, and try to impress/scare the viewer. Silent Hill series (at least the first two) was never about scaring players.

I only ever played 3 & 4 of Silent Hill so maybe I shouldn't even comment on the matter.

But my point is that they managed to **** up a simple concept of experimentation on teleportation going wrong and unleashing demons on a Mars base.

They turned it into Resident Evil in space instead.

Wasn't Mortal Kombat a movie before any comics or games? I could be wrong I'm just wondering.

3 and 4 (and rest, except Shattered Memories) are rubbish compared to first two games.

It's a decent action movie with some neat sequences. The BFG effect was neat.

Silent Hill was not only a great movie but great video game to movie adaption probably the best next to the 1st mortal kombat movie. Resident Evil was a good movies as well not so good on the adaption part. 2 and 3 were ****ing horrible just like mortal kombat 2.

Resident Evil, Mario (for laughs), Prince of Persia will probably be a 8/10 from the looks of it, Hitman was better than Doom, etc. its late but i can think of more that were halfway decent

Oh man. You're breaking my heart, Dog--. You're breaking my heart.

Mario was one of the other ones I was thinking of. So far nobody's even mentioned the other one.

Resident Evil...eh, Resident Evil 2 could be called a better adaptation than the Doom movie. First one was a pretty generic zombie movie, third one was blah except for seeing Wesker at the end. But Apocalypse was good for having the lickers, and the Nemesis, and Jill and Carlos.

Hitman...yeah I forgot about Hitman.

And I still say Silent Hill wasn't a better adaptation than Doom.

I'd totally watch a Doom movie that was based on that batshit insane Doom comic.
