I'd heard it was popular among US students so decided to pick up a bottle last night.

Hahahaha, it's great - its taste resembles cough medicine and it's syrupy sweet, you can rack up the shots without feeling a thing. It seems to f*ck people up quicker, as well. Had a great night, got back at six and slept on a mate's floor :E

Anyone else a fan?
 
Yes, I'm a fan of Jaeger... but not the morning after (on the toilet).

I can't do em. One night I chugged a bottle of that, and ...guh. I can't enjoy the taste, and thinking of it makes me sick.
 
Gotta love it. I once had loads though and nearly threw up on a really attractive girls head. So I didn't drink it for aggeeessss. Then I had some more recently and am back in love with it.
 
i havent had it, would like to try it. though im more a vodka guy myself
 
Yeah it is okay, prefer to do my Vodka shots though :D
 
ugh... it either tasets like black licorice, or it tastes like cough syrup... I can't stand the stuff.


edit: I'm a sake fan. Warm sake, cold sake... have it with some sushi... *Mmmm....*
 
Yeah, it just makes me gag so bad when I drink it. would be nice to find alcohol that hard that tastes so yummy i could drink it all day.
 
Try a jaeg bomb. Get a lowball cup and fill it 1/3rd with red bull(or other energy drink). Put a shot glass in the middle and fill with jaeg. Drink away.

Or just buy the jaeg cups that are designed for this.
 
Has anybody ever tried Disaronno?
It's a delicious amaretto flavored liqueur, when mixed in with coca-cola... it tastes exactly like cherry choke, thus you can effectively get drunk pretty fast with it.
 
Ah try Disaranno with half and half coke and lager = tastes like Dr. Pepper :) Lovely.

I hate Jaeger, tastes horrible, and for some reason really ****s me up - <3 Sambuca however.

All alcoholic drinks except for beer and Gin & Tonic taste like shit, so the only reason one might drink them is to get drunk. And for that purpose, I prefer vodka.
 
'Tis indeed a manly drink, but given the choice I like to go with the old classic - Jack Daniels.
 
I'm not a big fan of whisky - maybe you have to spend a lot of quality time with it before it becomes enjoyable :E and I haven't drunk vodka straight for three years - I had one of those experiences that makes you sick at the smell of it.

i know what you mean, but those experiences also build up your resistance of it - now i can pretty much drink vodka like my friends drink beer :)

Sambuca is deceptively evil, yet great, stuff. I got totally wasted on that, and that's the one and only time...it all caught up with me all at once.
Two words...free bar.
 
Hee, I used to play in a band that did weddings... on the rare occasions I didn't drive we could take full advantage :D
 
Great Sambuca story:

Was down the usual rock club sometime last year with all my mates, and my ex *shakes fist*

We were all standing in a group, and the 'Shot Girl' came around, so i had my usual Black Sambuca in a test-tube shot glass

My technique is to let it all fall into my mouth, then swallow. So i did this. When i had just started to swallow the Sambuca my mate hit me on the back...a bad choice

The Sambuca got caught up in my throat, i coughed it up and spat it right in my ex's face

I still have a cuckle to myself when i think of it

Its good with a can of redball rather then a vodka redball. Got me a bottle of sailer jerry rum lastnight now thats damn good stuff. If you have a coke mixer it tasts just like vinilla coke!
 
I can't drink beer all the time. There are the few occasions that I can drink it and not completely gag. The only drink I CAN drink without feeling sick is a long island ice tea, which works for me, because they get you trashed! :p
 
Is ale popular in America? You know, like proper bitter.

Yuck, I hate JD.

Grey goose(or any vodka) and sprite is a much better combination.

Also last night I tried a jaeg bomb without the energy drink. In its place was root beer. It went suprising well together.
 
i cant i say give 2 poops about what i drink. if its infront of my face ill drink it. Although. i do think ima let my liver get back some hp this week.. i have abused it.. haha

I'm the same with Grey Goose...bad experience one night. I was throwing up ALL next day.
 
Wow funny I found this thread, a guy I know in Canada just showed me this little concoction.

Not sure if Jaeger is available in the UK, will have to order some of the net. Gotta try this :D
 
Jaeger is one of the few drinks I can't stomach too well. I mean, vodka can be relatively unpleasant at times (I'm more of a whiskey fan), but a shot of jaeger just brings the gag reflex up immediately unless I'm already pretty hammered. In which case, I probably shouldn't be drinking it any way.

I don't like the taste, and coupled with a pretty bad experience with it, it's something I only end up drinking by accident...

Yeah, you can get it here - at least in the south west, and if you can get stuff here you can get it anywhere :E

To me, jaeger is much easier to swallow than whiskey, and tastes better than vodka - like aftershock, the sweet syrupy-ness swamps out a lot of the alchohol tang.
 
It's actually the sweetness that sickens me. =P I'm not totally opposed to it. I can enjoy cider, but shit like cranberry ale is out of the question. I despise alcopops out of principle. And despite my occasional flirtation with mixed drinks, I'm still only sticking to the usual fare of Rum/Coke or Vodka/Red Bull.

I feel sick if I so much as catch a whiff of jaeger (or anything similarly sweet), even in a sober state. If I'm gonna drink hard, it better taste hard.

I am the opposite. I can not stand whiskey at all. Not even with coke. Jaeg I love, one of the few drinks I down without chaser.
