Rather amusing.

He puts forth a lot of good points, but of course Hannity is so thick headed and all but plugging his ears and pretending he can't hear Ventura speaking.

"I don't care what you say about Bush."

Hannity: "And Bush kept us safe... goodbye."

Ventura: "Kept us safe... the biggest attack in history on his watch."

Hannity : "Yeah okay..."

Ventura: "Don't tell me he kept us safe."

Hannity: "Thank Bill Clinton for that."

Ventura: "No... I'll thank George Bush who don't read memos and goes on vacations"

Hannity: "You should of blamed Bill Clinton for not getting Bin Laden when he was in office."

Ventura: "Well I'll put it to you this way... I'd rather have a thousand Monicas than all these 9/11s and the terrorists"

I think Jesse is a great guy.
hannity of course is a tool.

What bothers me is that Pearl Harbor was investigated 8 times and 9-11 was only investigated once. Hurricane Katrina was also crap

Also Hannity talks to much, love this quote by Robert Greenleaf:
Many attempts to communicate are nullified by saying too much.

Hannity: "You should of blamed Bill Clinton for not getting Bin Laden when he was in office."

Bush was in office after Bin Laden became the most wanted man in the world, and he STILL didn't get him after seven years and two wars that were supposedly against Al Qaeda. Yeah, Bill Clinton is the incompetent one :rolleyes:

Jesse Ventura is awesome

Pretty damn video analysis from a guy over on a politics forum I visit called below the fold. His name is democon. Don't know him, but he did make this good post.

First off, listen to what a ****ing obsequious little prick Hannity is at first:

"You said you didn't like me until you met me."

I mean, how fukcing insecure can you be?

Then Hannity artfully dodges Ventura's assertion that Hannity bullies people on his show;

"I couldn't bully you. You'd slap me down so hard..." this, and the later comment, "Wanna' wrestle?" reminded me of Will Ferrell's character in Ladies Man, "She just doesn't understand what a strong opponent Brian is!"

Then, Hannity wants to quickly gloss over and dismiss any and all criticisms of Bush and Cheney (but he will throw Clinton in at the drop of a hat), and instantly wants Ventura on the record of Obama;

"What do you think of Barack Obama?"

Ventura begins by saying that he thinks Obama is intelligent, to which Hannity gives the now patented neocon reply;

"Oh come on, he reads off a tele-promopter!" to which Ventura points out, "At least he can..."

Then Ventura goes on to rightly state that it is far too early to be judging Obama too much, considering what Obama stepped into as president, to which Hannity replies;

"You just can't stop yourself." Hello, pot? This is the kettle... Hannity can go stick his Liberty Tree as far up his ass as he can.

Then Hannity goes on to repeat the completely refuted lie that Bush inherited a recession, then he drops in that Bush inherited,

"The negative impact of 9/11." Say what now? Did nobody catch this?

Then, when quoting the 9/11 Commission, something Hannity and the other neocons deride whenever the screwups of the Bush administration are high-lighted, agrees with Ventura on the point that the Commission didn't, in Ventura's words, "investigate nuthin'.", quotes the entire foundation for the "Path to 9/11" that there was a group of radicals determined to strke the US. Ventura counters with the 50+ memos Bush ignored while he was out fishing at Crawford on one of his many 900 days of vacation, which Hannity tries weakly to deflect with, "Presidents are never on vacation!" before switching back to Clinton and the whole Sudanese thing when it has been pointed out, ad nauseum, that this was pre 9/11, that bin Laden was not wanted by the US at the time and that getting him from the Sudan, if it really were possible, would have been difficult at best under the then current political climate. This argument is so completely specious because on the one hand, it argues that 9/11 is Clinton's fault for not getting bin Laden, but then dismisses any responsiblity Bush had in capturing or killing bin Laden before or after 9/11.

Then of course, Hannity switches off of Clinton and on to Obama. While he does agree at least superficially with Ventura on the fact that the defecit was never brought up during the primaries or the debates, he instantly switches back to Obama and the staggering increase in the defecit. Ventura rightly points out that Obama's hand was forced by the stunning defecit Bush ran up, and Hannity, once again, refuses to acknowledge Bush's complicitness in the mess, having spent more than the four previous presidents combined, then changes tactics to the time-honored, Accuse them of the same things you are doing;

"You just hate Bush so much you can't see straight! He's not the president! He's not the president!" Hello? Pot? Is that you again? Did you or did you not just blame Clinton for Bush having inherited a recession? Is Clinton president now? Was he president when Bush became president? Did you or did you not blame 9/11 on Clinton? Was Clinton president then? ****ing dick.

Then, when Ventura points out, rightly, that Hannity will back anything conservatives do or say (which is not wholly accurate, but enough for this "debate"), Hannity uses his time-worn defense, "You haven't listened to every second of every minute of every hour of every segment of every day of every week of every month of every year I've been on to catch the one or two times I criticized a Republican on spending!" And that's it; that's Hannity's entire defense for being completely an in the tank partisan hack.

Then, when Hannity urges Ventura to say, "thank you Mr. Hannity." just look at the venom in Ventura's eyes. If ever there was a moment when you could literally see hatred flash across someone's eyes, that was it. Hannity then tries to hustle Ventura out the door because clearly the interview is not going as planned, Ventura wants to know why he is being shown the door so quickly, and Hannity claims, "Because you insist on going over the old topic and I knew you'd do this!" Uhh, pot? Which old topic was it? bin Laden offered to Clinton in the Sudan? The embassy bombings in Africa and Saudi Arabia? The attack on the USS Cole? The so-called Clinton defecit that Bush inherited?

When Ventura tries to bring it back to the new topic, that is Obama, and rightly point out that Obama inherited the fiscal disaster created by Bush, Hannity brushes that aside by saying;

"Well, it's Obama's problem now." I mean, what a dick; he flat-out admitted he doesn't care, then later on he comes right out and says, "I don't care what you say about Bush."

When Ventura again tries to point out that Republicans voted for Bush's economic bail-out but not Obama's, that the were putting "party before country", Hannity goes completely off-topic to Reagan,

"I am a Reagan conservative, (which he's not).. Reagan ended the Cold War, (which he didn't)... and he took on evil in his time and I love him for it!" I mean honestly, what the ****?

Then Hannity tries to get in one last little jab, "And Bush kept us safe." but Ventura won't let him get away with it, and Hannity, once again, brings up the "old topic" again and blames it all on Clinton. I mean, if that segment does not out and out prove to anyone with half a non-biased brain that Hannity is a complete ****ing whore and cock-sucker, then nothing will.

I just realized I titled the thread with his name spelled incorrectly as Venture. Jesse Venture... VENTURE BROS!

Damn, he got old.
