this is for the benefit of half life2 gamers so please dont flame - this specific thread gets more attention then the others....


How about someone starts a mod where everyone has jetpacks....like

tribes.....but better....I get lots of ideas .....someone should start finding

people to help do this....i am an artist a little bit i could possibly

help but i dont draw unless I need to so, might want to find someone

who enjoys this and is more talented

Making the jetpack propulse according to angle.
If you used it in tribes it was only up. Your movement decided a bit.

But more like a superman thing, you turn it on, and then look into the ground so your body is horisontal, and then you get flown through air.

Gordon flying looking down at the ground "I'm flying, I'm flying." Gordon doesnt see building... SMASH...

NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL MAKING DEMOS OF STUNTS ON THE JETPACK!! WOOT

What i mean is instead of just propelling up into the air, you get propelled the way the jetpack is angled.

So like if you saw superman flying, then picture gordon with a jetpack, thats what i'm trying to tell.
So it propels in that direction/angle the jetpack is in.

I doubt the half-life 2 maps will be big enough for it. Tribes did maps differently.

its a jet pack - superman can float in one spot like that - i think you would need alot of speed to stay up in the air like that, besides real jet packs in real life are used like the ones in tribes just dont work to well but thats what games are for!......and it would make fighting really awkward.......

first of all maps are apparently going to be the size of battle field 1942 or bigger ........it can handle map size
