Easy on the lines there, some of these look incredibly rushed and messy because of the way you've hatched them.

You're also thinking very 2 dimensionaly, there's no indication of form in any of these, you can solve this by doing 'boring' life studies of simple items like your mouse or a cup (in pencil on paper)

Anatomy studies wouldnt hurt either

It is true that Jintor always has had ridiculous hair and a very feminine chin line. Also his eyes are enormous.

I quite like it all but basically share Crush's criticisms. Anatomy, depth, perspective. The problem with learning to draw from anime - which it looks like you've done - is you only really learn to draw shapes, not a 3D object being viewed. You learn to draw a face like an upside-down triangle or whatever, but you don't learn what a head/face id so you can't mess with it. Or I'm talking bullshit.

Not necessarily classical art, but I think naturalistic or realistic drawing is actually pretty essential before you can do cartoony or distorted drawings. You have to know what you're distorting. Learning how to draw an anime face before learning how to draw an actual face can become problematic. Anatomy is difficult but really important. Draw naked people.

This guy is also self taught, his name is marko djurdjevic and he currently works for marvel

He learnt anatomy from a book (hogarth), and pretty much everything else from life and hard work practicing. Self taught doesn't mean that you aren't as good as someone who went to art school, it just means that you taught yourself!!

No, Jintor, it was a compliment. I like anime. What I meant was that something about you just "spoke anime" to me.

Sulkdodds, nothing is wrong with anime. It's a different style. Some like it, some don't.

My Object Perspective teacher would kill you. She bashed Anime art for four hours one day, and we had to just listen to her. She was saying its not art because a 3 year old could do it, and then she showed us "real" art that sucked ass in comparison. We tried arguing with her, but she was just being a twat. She was a bitch. Pretty hittable though :naughty:

Anyways, some of them are pretty good, others seem like just one-minute sketches.
