Well **** me.... :|try sound intelligent
Whenever you lost track of your train of thoughts, just cough once (which gives you a tad of time to get back in track) and then continue. Works wonders for presentations aswell
So, got a big job interview coming up soon ... Has anyone got some good handy top tips for job interviews?
Otherwise, I get a sit down and a coke before the interview to get into the right mind set. Nothing will lose you a chance more than turning up late or having to reschedule.
Take gum, eat before you arrive (But not 10 seconds before, or you will reek of mint)
Walk into the interview with your nuts hanging out your trousers - but don't linger in the gaze of the guy/gal behind the desk, that's important. They will be so perplexed and shacken by what they think they saw, but know deep down couldn't have been, that any sense of superiority or power they had prior will be lost in a sea of doubt. Now the tables are turned, and you will appear to be all the more calm and confident - it can't fail.
So I got a Q for you guys. I always hear that you should wear a tie or something to an interview. But it seems that you guys all work in an office or something. I'm a welder so you can expect what the place will look like. Usually I wear my best jeans, shirt, and fancy shoes. Do you guys think that's ok or something?
Dress according to what the job entails.
Those are all the typical pieces of advice you get from everyone, and they're all good. I've recently picked up a few more things that will greatly help you in your interview. We are actually studying this in English class right now here are some helpful tips
1) dont be LATE!!
2) dress nice, wear something that is white, or light blue, with a tie.
3) smile when you walk in there..
4) have good posture and walk
5) have a solid firm handshake.
6) know facts and other things about the buisness where you are applying
7) ask questions..
8) be ready to tell about yourself but know when to quit
9) Prepare you speech ahead of time.
Hope some of that helps you!! remember they look at how qualified you are but mostly they look at your attitude, Bad attitude = no job!
GOOD LUCK!
