Joe Biden will be Barack Obama's running-mate, all the networks are saying. Could you Americans tell us non-Yanks a little more about Biden? I have heard from him on occasions, but I don't know an awful lot about him.

So did nearly every senator and representative in office at the time.

Wasn't he the guy guy that Gabe Newell voted for? Nobody heard about him because he dropped out early like a pussy and sounded like a clone with the rest of the dems. I'm seriously considering voting for John McCain. My reasoning is that Obama will just get us in more trouble with our economy. He's a nub and doesn't make decisions. McCain has his own faults too but I mean let's face it, Obama is like we are getting out now!!!!!111 and McCain is like "you and I know that won't happen soon and there will be terrorists moving in after we leave. We need to finish the job, not just leave". I know it's horrible and I'm a person that hates the republican side and I voted for Hillary, but Obama is just a nub. He's black, a dem, and he likes computers! LOLZ kekeke rush to latest XBOX and vote for him Live! ^ __ ^ Most voters for him are young (like me) and are black anyways.

Biden's pretty cool actually.

Back in like, early 2007.. I was hoping he would run because I could think of myself voting for him. A lot changed since then, but he's still quite cool. A good choice, I think.

Obviously not perfect, but nobody is.

McCain is about the worst decision you could make when voting. Prepare to be chastised just like people who voted for bush are now, because McCain is going to continue to **** things up and lead us down this road some more.

And bullshit on most voters of Mccain being black. There's tons of white and hispanic people, and other ethnicities other than white who have his vote. African Americans only make up around 13% of the US population you know... other groups have to fill in the rest of the support he's getting... especially considering large chunks of all don't even vote.

Yeah but there is nothing to prove himself. A Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama pair? Omfg you got the best of both worlds. No though, now we got Biden who is almost like Dick Cheney acting like the president. Obama has made many decisions that are like McCains. I know what you are saying but it's either McCain or Obama. If something happens that needs immediate attention, I don't think Obama will take swift action. I think he will study it forever and ask other people what to do, meanwhile people are getting killed and whatnot. I think McCain can do at least something because of his experience.

Bush did stuff in situations of crisis. He ****ed it all up.

Tons of experience means jack shit when your philosophy in life leads you to make well informed, horrible decisions.

Great choice. Biden has tons of foreign policy experience and is also just a cool guy.

hool10, please PLEASE don't vote for McCain. Experience isn't everything. Watch this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYRcyEcfqh8

and maybe you should actually research Obama's stance on removing the troops from Iraq. Hillary was actually going to remove them ALL within a few months. Obama is going to remove them slowly over a couple years.

Isn't Joe Biden the plagiarist?

I love how you people make these statements like "so and so is gonna **** up our country so bad, you just wait!" as if they've already happened.

Gabe Newell gave a good amount to Christopher Dodd, actually.

Yes, experience does count and just looking at numbers in a video with HL2 music doesn't persuade me. Well it's not actually experience but rather what you do that counts. Now Obama didn't vote in favor or against the Iraq war. He was just indecisive but both Hillary and McCain voted in favor. Back then, we were all told there were weapons and were all tricked, yet they still made a decision. Obama is really just a nub in the political world. I will have to see who McCain pics as his VP. I mean if he picks some whack job like say Jeb Bush, then I'm going Obama. Then I gotta see the political 1 vs 1 show and decide then.

Wow you're really... I don't know how to describe it. You change sides very easily.

You're going to pick Obama, even though Obama is a 'nub' and doesn't know what the hell he is doing according to you(not verbatim, I embellished), if McCain picks some 'nutjob' as if whoever he picks will be worse than him.

Sure, let's bring in the entire Clinton clan. I'm sure they would have never, ever tried to push their own way and would have only given their wholehearted support to an Obama presidency.

Nice.

I would've picked Wesley Clark if i were him. That would have ensured him the presidency. It's a shame that Edwards ****ed up his chance of being picked. Oh well, i guess anything is better than HRC.

I'm almost willing to bet that McCain is gonna pick Mitt Romney.

actually Obama was against the war, but he didn't vote against it or for it because he wasn't a senator yet. And my video was pretty accurate. If you don't believe me, go here: http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2008/Info/experience.html

You know what I think? I think anybody in power is a complete corrupt idiot. The only way you climb to the top is on other people's back. Do I like Hillary or any senator? Hell no, I hate politics. Though Hillary Clinton was the biggest nutjob and seemed like she would be the biggest bitch to people. I want people in the Senate to get off their ass and actually do something, and it looked like Hillary would pester the ever living crap out of these people so they finally cave in. Now we got Obama who again, is nub so he relies on other people. He takes too long to make a decision. I'm not saying making a knee jerk response, but this guy is indecisive, then goes and votes to put back in the Homeboy Security Act on us again? Hillary didn't vote for that crap again but Obama did.

Now it's almost all bad news for McCain as well because let's face it, he has those Rep values. Yet he's not fully a Republican but even thinking of going Independent. If he picks that asshat from MA, Romney the gay phobia man, I'll probably end up picking Obama. In the end, I don't like anything to do with politics. The best bet for America IMO was Hillary and now that opportunity is lost. Though I do like McCains tough stance on foreign relations. I'm afraid if other countries will see Obama as too young and a nub too.

Ok now in my opinion and the press is catching on, is that we need Obama to get a little mean. He is losing power right now because well, he is doing that stay back approach. He can't attack McCain though because he hasn't done much to prove himself. He just usually says "blah blah blah, I never said that and that is unacceptable". Meanwhile you got McCain who is like "if Obama starts buying cars, then goes into hiding because his wife is crazy like Deval Patrick, a strong supporter of Obama, what will you do then America?".

The guy doesn't even wear a pin to show his pride for running to be the president of the USA. That's the other thing and I know it's a lame tactic but it works, McCain keeps saying he is an American. He keeps saying he is a patriot, etc but it feels good because he is running to be the president of the USA. Obama is a very weak public speaker compared to McCain as well.

Every country wants to be the best, we can't have a pussy for a president. His now VP, Biden, is even looking better than him. Hopefully this guy doesn't end up like Woodrow Wilson, ya know. :dozey: Keep in mind that I am a registered voter in favor of the Democrat side, yet I can't even help myself and look considerably at McCain, a Republican.

lol wut?

Not gonna respond to the rest of your post, but are you serious with this? McCain couldn't be more awkward.

I certainly agree that Obama isn't being nearly aggressive enough. Luckily Biden loves to tear people up, so he can help destroy McCain. Obama needs to definately run some counter-attack ads and attack ads against McCain. There SOOO many ads he could make that would destroy McCain. If I was David Plouffe (obama's campaign manager) I would be running attack ads everywhere. McCain started it anyways.

Attack-ad campaigns are one of the absolute worst things to ever come out of the American electoral process.

Obama is a very weak public speaker compared to McCain as well.

Aha! Ahaha! Ahahaha.

You're not serious I hope? :-/

Obama is an amazing speaker. He's very talented. McCain on the other hand is... well quite frankly, horrible in comparison.

I liked Biden's attack on Rudy Guiliani "Rudy Giuliani. There's only three things he mentions in a sentence -- a noun, a verb, and 9/11."

Attack-ad campaigns are one of the absolute worst things to ever come out of the American electoral process.

I know, but there's no way around it for this election. Maybe if the polls were showing McCain down 10% - 15% Obama could stroll through using only positive ads that focus on the issues. But this race is very close and attack ads work. And there's a lot of dirt on McCain.

You guys don't honestly think Obama will do what he says including avoiding a war with Iran right? :|

You do realize that they have the atomic bomb? Not even a dumbass such as our lovely president dares to attack them. They're all just talking out of their asses. They might eventually put an embargo against them. That remains to be seen though.

I think the Obama campaign should make huge posters like this:

John "Century of War" McCain. Everything America needs.

Not like Dubya was anything different, but.... OH HEY LOOK, THE PANTOMIMIC HORSE!

I thought they didn't have the atomic bomb?

Please explain to me how "finishing the job" will solve our economic problems when most of them are a direct result of staying in this war and running such a high deficit.

Yeah see that's something that pisses me off... Everybody is aware of harder economical times for us. At least it seems so.

But so few of them are going, "Oh hey... I wonder exactly WHY that is? Could it possibly be because we are in a war that is costing us hundreds of billions of dollars which will extend out to trillions of dollars... money we don't have. Or could it possibly be because our war with an oil rich country in an oil rich region is screwing with oil prices that is affecting us back home?"

No... they are clueless and think it's just the natural course of things.

You know what I think? I think anybody in power is a complete corrupt idiot. The only way you climb to the top is on other people's back. Do I like Hillary or any senator? Hell no, I hate politics.
Then shut up. If you don't like, don't care about or just plain abhor the system then don't participate in it. Don't endorse it by voting.

On the other hand, if you want to actually accept the legitimacy of the process and try and affect things and talk about them, you can decry the whole shebang as much as you like but you cannot use that to brush off entire arguments about which candidates are better. Right now it looks like you're just responding to argument with "oh yeah but I hate them all". Whatever.

Every nation in the world is currently having economic problems, at least to some degree. It's not just America, and I doubt that the war has made much difference, seeing as how the US hasn't had a trade surplus since 1973.

Anyway, I think that it'd be deliciously funny if all this voting, and campaigning was done in vain, when the real winner was already pre-chosen by the CIA or other clandestine groups that basically run the country.

There are a number reasons for the economic downturn, but by spending beyonds it's earnings the US government has harmed the US dollar which is the world currency, which has a negative effect on everyone and everyone else's economy is closely tied to the US one. If I were an American fixing the dollar would be my number one election issue.

Numbers, it's a government spending deficit not a trade deficit thats the issue.

please dont vote for mcain,if you vote for mcain it will be the begining of world war3 seriously

in the first week of mandate he will order to invade iran, sirya, north korea, russia and some latinamerican country like mine! or nicaragua

Something like this is what I would say, if it wasn't said so well already.

I like Biden. This is a guy that didn't make more than 100K a year up until a few years ago when he released his book. Compare that McCain who doesn't even remember how many houses he owns.

On top of that he has amazing foreign policy experiance and won't shy away from attacking McSame and the rest of the republican crew. There are quite a few things I don't like about him but I think overall this was the best pick Obama could make.
