That would be indeed interesting. After Doom 3 what plans does id have anyways? We know valve has to do HL3. Perhaps they should merge and make HL3 heh. Would be an interesting sight.

You know something. I've been hard on poor Carmack. Sure the whole of id are wankers and arrogant and prideful but so many fun memories with Wolf3D, Doom I, II. So there games are fun I guess.

But Gabe is a nicer person. Better character.

Gabe and the whole team owns a lot to id and Carmack. He's a legend not to be compared to anyone even Gabe! Actually I find any kind of x vs. y stupid but this one is really ridiculous. And although I think HL2 might be game of th year, rather than Doom3 I have no less respect of Carmack.

Gabe does seem more like a team player, but he has to be, he doesn't seem as self-sufficient as Carmack. Carmack does a ton of coding all by himself, and involves himself deeply in every part of his games/engines developments. Gabe, while I'm sure he has awesome ideas, really does need a team to carry out what he wants to achieve.

2 different styles, both are good, both games will be good. Personally, I feel Carmack is a genius. He is such a visionary. Gabe created a great game, Carmack created a genre.
