John Ritters death was shocking, I like alot of his work and his new show. It's too bad he died on his daughters 5th birthday too . Johnny Cash didn't really shock me.

Amazing how nobody mentioned him here until he died, its not like someone would have just suddenly went Johnny Cash is awsome... and I'd never seen John Ritter before either, you notice this year johnny cash was on the video music awards on MTV but he wasn't on years before? Probably because they felt sorry for him because he was in the hospital with brain neurosis or whatever, but I mean honestly, what's with our custom on paying more attention to people after their dead and stuff?

He was at the awards because he did a cover of NIN's song; the video and the song as sung by him was absolutely the best I've ever seen. Heartwrenching stuff, especially showing him in his own home, then showing his wife (who died recently too) & him during younger times. The damage that his hard-living caused was all too apparent.

It only played a few times on MTV, I saw it at 0300 on VH1 and I nearly :x myself, it was that emotional (somehow made me remember my late father, also - who was a Cash fan & was born & raised in Tennessee).

So that's why, not because they "felt sorry for him."

Actually, I enjoyed Johnny Cash's version, the lyrics and him went together really well.

HAH!! he butchered HURT, man I remember when I first heard that video, was at gym some chick was like.. aww what a great song (older broad) and I informed her it was a NIN cover, the song was written by Trent Reznor (aka yo daddy, aka god)
Im not one for country, and whatever else Cash did... but its sad for anyone to die.
I also found john ritter's death quite shocking... he seemed so healthy

I wouldnt call cash's music country. It had its own stlye.


He has influenced alot of modern music. Im hopefully going to go over to his house later and take some pictures.

To hear that Johnny was interested in doing my song was a defining moment in my life’s work. To hear the result really reminded me how beautiful, touching and powerful music can be. The world has truly lost one of the greats. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
