No. There isn't a fourth installment of the franchise, yet. It's now in pre-production and will arrive in theatres some time in 2006.

And I don't know about another Alien film. I haven't heard anything on it.

Ohh, it wasnt Jurassic Park 4, but 3. sorry my mistake :)
so there is a forth in production ?

I can't imagine what it will be...

1 and 2 were based on the books, and 3 was more or less a crappy plot written so that they could put in all the parts that were in the 1st two books that weren't in the first two movies.

...but they still haven't done the Ceratosaurus from The Lost World. Maybe it'll be in this one! Yay!

Awsome, hope Sam Neil is one of the actors =)

Sam "You won't need eyes where we're going" Neil.

Gotta love Event Horizon.

This will undoubtedly make you all sick.....

I have no link, but last I heard of a new Alien movie had Paul Anderson's name attached as a possible director...he expressed interest as did Fox. I feel disgusted even mentioning this out-loud. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time now to dig the link, but I'm sure one of you guys could stumble onto it...I found it looking to see if another Alien was on it's way....

*EDIT*- http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/558/558106p1.html
THis is close to what I read....I saw it somewhere else.

For Jurassic Park IV, they're trying to get all the major players back.

Bill Monahan, who I share an agent with, has already written the script, so I can confirm that it's indeed in the works. As for when and where, no idea - though I know the script returns Sam Neill's character, Vince Vaughan's, Sir Richard Attenborough's and his granddaughter. All the original actors are expected to come back I hear - including Ariana Richards as the grandkid, apparently - and I believe Spielberg's involved in 'some' capacity.

If all goes to plan, they expect to start shooting sometime this year, and target for a release in 2006.

2 was a mutilated version of The Lost World and 3 was a bastard freak-child, carved from the remaining afterbirth leftovers of the book that the second film hadn't already pillaged.
A fourth film can only spell disaster for humanity.

But the Ceratosaurus from The Lost World was fantastic! Although sadly Hollywood would probably give it a high-tech mask, wristblades and a shoulder-cannon. <Sighs>

Were the Ceratosaurus' the camiflaged dinosaurs? they wern't in the films and i quite liked them in the book :) I thought the books were great, films didnt live upto them at all.

Yep. That's them. I thought the first Jurassic Park was pretty good, but The Lost World...well, I just couldn't swallow it. They cut out Levine entirely, fabricated a new reason for the trip to Site B, combined Carr and Thorn into one character, added about 100 new people (the hunters), and they couldn't even bother to put in the COOLEST 'saurs in the book. Oh well.

Last I heard JP4 involved David Boreanaz as commander of a crack team of velociraptor/human hybrid super-soldiers...

No, no...

...see, there's this super-virus...

I seriously hope the production of Jurrasic Park 4 goes the way the production for Mad Max 4 did.

I've also heard info that they've gotten Crichton's input back in on this one, so that may leave some hope for the writing.

I hope they resurrect Dennis Nedry for this...

"Ah ah ah! You didn't say the magic word!"

Wayne Knight, legend.

Urget to kill... Rising.

if the director that made AVP will make Alien 5, it will destroy the whole Alien atmosphere :(

Wow, You guys take movies too seriously.
I read the JP books as well, and didn't care that the movies didn't have much from the books in them...I just watched and enjoyed them as they're meant to be.

See, I don't mind if they leave stuff out as long as the movie is still GOOD (like the first one). However, the not only completely changed The Lost World, the changes made it into a BAD movie.

I loved the music from the first one (the theme)

my interpretation of the theme said:
do do doooooooo dooooo do ... do do doooooooooo dooooooooo do .... DOOO DOO DOOOOOODOOOOOOOO dooooooo dooooooooo DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I can see it now...the raptors will shoot lasers from their eyes and create tornadoes by running so fast and the T-rex will be able to cause earthquakes by walking...yep Jurassic Park 4 shall be "great" :rolling:

Wow, those could easily replace the Raptors as the main thing to be feared. 8 feet is the perfect height too. Small enough so that you don't see or hear it coming (a la the T-Rex), yet big enough to have a presence and still, just fit through a doorway. JP4 must have these. :D
