Just a quick warning, www.halflifesource.com is in complete anarchy if any one here visits there.
Now is not a good time to go there if you are easily offended.
Horrible pictures, racism e.t.c, little kids going out of control because there are no moderators.

I know there are at least a few people here who visit hlsource for the drwalterbennet thread e.t.c, just thought i'd give a fair warning.

Half life source should be shut down...it's a disgrace to the hl2 community.

Trust me I've been there. You can't reason with these kids. It's disgusting. People like me who easily get pissed off at ignorant people.... Auugh, it's hell in there.

The moderators have just "quit", everyone has decided they are going to break as many of the rules as possible.

I think the site is gonna have to be shut down or something.
 
Wow why did they leave the site up if there is no moderators or admins watching over it. Thats a really bad move, someone should remove that site if its not going to be taken care of, especially if they are posting nasty stuff on there.
 
Oh God..I just actually looked at a thread..It reminds me of why I love this place..nice small 50x50 avatars with limited space for a sig...there 65% of a post is the sig. 30% is the avatar and the posts consist of such intellectually stimulating responses as:

bvasgm, please don't tempt people to look, i've seen some really nasty stuff there........thats why i gave the warning, DO NOT go there unless you like seeing the worst images on the net.

Because this forum isn't about attacking other rival forums. Plus thats childish to make fun of them, they make themselves look stupid enough.

well for starters I think given the vast quantity of moron's urinating around that forum, I really wouldnt blame the moderator's staying away from them, cornering them in that one thread seems appropriate to expose the retarded trash thinkers that are actually out there in force.

lol, I remember that site a while back. It hosted the first half-life radio stream, started by Andy Hodges. I used to be a participant in the "Wacky Wednesdays". Yeah the radio was never any good, at all, funny at times, but it quickly developed into a bad place to be.

Andy Hodges is a prick. And if anyone cares / remembers, I was General Shrimpy : "I'm nine years old!". Good times, good times.

Someone fill me in here...where's all the crazy-go-nuts? I've never been to the Half-Life Source forums but everything seemed fine to me. OP made it sound like there was anarchy and off-topic madness going on in every forum, which there wasn't.

Checked out the House of Flames and I found out is neither a house, nor is it full of flames. I mean...where's the madness? People saying homosexuals should be segregated, goatse, and lemon party? That's it? Jesus Christ Short Recoil you got my hopes up of seeing a forum thrown into complete disarray for LEMON PARTY? This will be the first time I have ever had warrant to use this here smiley: :flame: Grrr, and whatnot. The rest of you made it sound worse too. Additional grrr's.

Oh, and Bvasgm, get over it dude. It's goatse, everyone's seen it, and if you're still offended or creeped out by it you probably need to get off the internet THIS VERY MOMENT before you see something TRULY terrifying.

I rate this topic a -1 because thread does not deliver anarchy (hmm, maybe I should start rating topics...).

One thing that pissed me off about that place was everyone had huge pictures in their sigs, with one line posts.
And that's not even mentioning all the verbal abuse and nasty pictures.

Thank god for the reasonable halflife2.net forums. It's not strict here, but...I dunno, we don't tend to get too many trolls about.
 
Sometimes I hate having all these rules on hl2.net, but when I see HUGE sigs with 1 line posts and goatse all over, I love hl2.net :)
 
well its strict enough - immediate punishments and closed threads evrywhere
but i suppose in a community this big it needs good laws
still i enjoy the forums i visit where the only rule is not to incite violence or hate and thats it - true freedom and things generally work

Well it's just like a pub.. halflife2.net is a nice hooters or something like that, and that other place is a rowdy stinky terrible biker bar
