A demo for a upcoming freeform GTA-ish game will be released on August the 24th for both the XB360 and the PC, I love it when they do multiplatform games, I always enjoy comparing the PC vers on max vs the 360 vers to see how the 360.:p Anyway, I'm extremely hyped for this game, I have a feeling it might be somewhat of a underdog hit, especially on the 360 where the community has barely noticed it.. I do find it sad how a game like Saint's Row gets more hype than a game like this tbh.. Atleast this brings a new setting other than the standard gangbanger fare.:)

Edit: I realized the title can be a bit misleading, if a mod'd change it to "Just Cause demo dated, XB360 -AND- PC" it'd be appreciated!

ARG HOW DAR U WITH TEH INCORRECTS TITEL D:<

Neat, I'll try it out when it comes. Also, the link failed for me.

Hmm, there's a problem with the link, when you click it it leaves out the ! at the end, so you'll need to copy-paste it into your browser, http://www.oxm.co.uk/articles/news/hardware/just_cause_demo_date_confirmed! include the !
Otherwise, here's the devs official site, http://www.avalanchestudios.se/
Look to the right.

"The demo of Just Cause will be released on August 24th for PC and Xbox 360. Check back soon for more details on the demo..."

Looks like it's gonna be a great title. Looking forward to the demo.

I'll give it a try. Looks like it could be fun :)

Aw, it's released a week before school starts. D:

Oh snap, the game's pretty much GTA meets John Woo.

just cause there's a demo doesn't mean I'll try it.

lawl did you see what I did thar?

I thought this one looked really cool until I saw the latest vid where he jumps in and out of helicopters (through the blades) and in and out of jet fighters...this ruined it for me. Some semblance of realism would've been nice instead of what looks to be tantamount to god-mode in-game. Bad move to include such nonsense imho--like the new Crackdown and its hulk-like jumping and such.

Err, this has been a future since the game was first announced, they've always stated it's somewhat a parody off the B-movies from the 80s with incredibly stunts and shit. I myself like it.. I prefer 'realistic' games to try to be as realistic as possible. But to each man his own I guess, I think it'll be a great game, I love how you can overthrow the government in your own way sorta.. Like you can try to assassinate the general or w/e iirc, directly, but because he's so heavily guarded on his island it's pretty much impossible until you get your hands on heavier hardware, or you can try to 'slowly' help the revolutionaries take over cities and settlements.:) Anyway, I don't think it's a bad move to include such "nonsense" when the game is trying to emulate overdone B-movie action flicks..:p

Hopefully this and COH will keep me busy for a long while cause i am really tempted to buy a Xbox 360, even though my ass is broke.
Mussst ressist...saintssss...row...dead rissing...nooooo!!!

Looks like a third person Far cry :D Big island, except no zombie gorilla mutants (or are there? :O)

Don't think - do it :) (just make sure you have enough left over for a wii!)

I might pick this up for the 360, depends on the reviews it gets.

Bollocks, I'm off up to the edinburgh festival on the 24th :/

Looks pretty cool...

Unless the demo blows me away though I won't buy it.

I won't be able to try the demo until a week after, because I'll be away on somewhat of a vacation :(

I'm very picky about the games I play.

Part of it is because I'm a programmer and a lot of the things that people see on the screen that mystify them, I sort of know the tricks behind them... It's sort of similar to going to a magic show and knowing how he does each of his tricks... However, sometimes there are games that just absolutely blow me away (Crysis for example), but otherwise I don't get impressed by technical tricks.

I sorta get what you mean, boy am I glad that I'm not gonna work with programming or game design then hehe :p

You're off to the Edinburgh festival? Sweet. I finish resitting failed first year exams in Edinburgh on the 25th. Then I'm going to be partying it up. We should go drinking lol. Not that I actually know you or anything. But drinking with strangers/gamers is fun, so long as they dont offer you candy.

Furthermore, in an on-topic development, I saw a preview of this on gamer.tv today. Looks pretty sweet. They had some actual gameplay footage. Definitely going to be trying this one.

I understand what you are saying and what the devs are trying to do, but I find that there is a point where the b-movie feel stops and the "nonsense" starts. This crosses that line for me, though I may just get it and simply avoid taking part in any part of said "nonsense" if that is at all possible. :p It looks really sweet apart from that. :D

Pretty damn impressive artwork.
