The thing is, that miscommunication was months ago, and Vivendi quickly retracted the faulty information and reaffirmed September 30. Couple that with Valve's continued promotion of September 30 as the release date and I think you have a bunch of anxious gamers that are fretting over nothing.

I dont think the console ports for this game will be out until next year. Look how long it took Bungie to port Halo to PC. Valves gonna milk the PC version for as long as possible. After all we are the original, true, fan base . Just my thoughts though.

ive pretty much given up on videogame stores for information. i went into an EB games, an EB gameworld, and a Babbages, and did not see ONE advertisement for Half-Life 2. that makes me sorta mad, and happy at the same time. it means that videogame stores are NOT reliable sources, but it also means that the Half-Life 2 community is almost an underground clan. like the community we have here on the forums. we know what the best game is, and when its comming out. while all those people who rely on stores dont have a clue.

all of it sorta makes me feel wanted

I'm not sure, there was at least one e-mail to Vivendi which said that Feb 2004. It's in a locked thread further down the forum.

Maybe there was another miscommunication I mean. Maybe a memo left off the words "X-Box".

Yeah, next year. Feb 2004 (and maybe that is an optimistic date).

sure is optimistic. It will come out on consoles around the same time TF2 is releaseed. pffff...
