Just how dangerous is global warming?

Personally I would rather use global warming as an excuse to kickstart technological development more than anything.
here here, if it happens and an ice age begins, I doubt oil and nuclear energy for a start would manage to cut it, especially as there are more people who want energy everyday as the earths population continue's to balloon.

But...What possible alternative is there? Surely there can't be some magical zero point energy device that provied limitless energy.:O

everything naturally uses energy anyway.. ;) how else can the physical reality continue to exist in the way it does, every electron needs its continuous Zero point meal, or else it would cease to behave in the way it does,, and then that would make the universe a very different place, perhaps not existing atall.

lol, *plugs them in to power his stargate*

*rubs hands together*

muhahaha

When the Romans were ruling Britain, they were growing grapes as far north as Scotland. In victorian times, the river Thames would often freeze over duing winter.

I don't think things are quite as simple as 'global warming'. Don't forget, we're still coming out of one of a series of ice ages.
