Ok, this is the thread for just one song you love the most! :) You can contemplate around several titles, but please end up picking your all-time-favorite song.

Mine is

Dire Straits - Water of Love

...oh, so true!

Audioslave Cochise

Contenders:

Who - Wont get fooled again
Radiohead - Just
Audioslave - Worm
Pearl Jam - Even flow
Soundgarden - Spoonman
Guns N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

Actually the list goes on and on, but Cochise is my number 1 tune

Mother Love Bone - Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns

Contenders:
Pearl Jam - Even Flow
Soundgarden - Outshined
Alice in Chains - Junkhead
Janis Joplin - Piece of my Heart

Metallica-The Unforgiven

Contenders:
Metallica-Fade to Black
Guns n Roses-Civil War
Pearl Jam-Alive
Foo Fighters-Breakout

Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Raise Your Skinny Fists Like Antenna
it's the most perfect building-up peice I've ever heard

Led Zeppelin - Achilies Last Stand

close but no cigar
3 inches of blood - Deadly Sinners
Iron Maiden - Genghis Khan\Run For The Hills
Iced Earth - The Comming Curse
Children Of Bodom - Warhearts

...I think you missed the point of the thread.

The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Preferably played on a ukulele by Jake Shimabukuro. :E

My favorite song alternates between my top favorite electronica artists. Sometimes it's "Go! Spastic" by Squarepusher, "Sublimit" by Autechre, or "Roygbiv" by Boards of Canada. So what might be my fav song right now will likely change tomorrow.

However, I'd say that "Ziggomatic 17" by Aphex Twin is a more consistent and frequent No. 1 song to me. It has so many changes, alterations, and different segments that make it just one huge experience. Going from harsh and menacing, to Jungle-ish, to quiet and somber, to sad, and then finally crystalizing softly with a light keyboard piece after everything else has died down, shortly before giving you its parting words. Amazing.

sorry, top is the best, whiel the other ones were damn close for me, should ahve stated that

Atmosphere - Trying to Find a Balance

Note: Many Atmosphere/Radiohead/Moby/The Who songs rotate out for this position quite frequently, but this is the long-standing champ.

Note 2: Slug is da man.

The Beatles - Because

Contenders:
The Beatles - Day Tripper
Led Zeppelin - The Ocean
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Oasis - Champagne Supernova
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - Ohio

Gah, this is a tough one.

Currently I'd say A Perfect Circle - Passive

However, mentions to

Oasis - Wonderwall
A Perfect Circle - Gravity
Tool - Schism
Tool - Stinkfist

Good god it's hard.......
I have so many amazing songs the best is either Metal or Indie and ugh they are so different so ....

Sonata arctica- Replica
<3 Hazar

however this comes close behind:
Rocket from the crypt- Too many balls
and this: Rocket from the crypt- my Arrow's aim
and this: Sonata Arctica- White pearls, Black oceans

Oasis - Gas Panic!

It had stiff competition from:

The Coral - Bill McCai, Pass It On.
Oasis - Supersonic, The Importance Of Being Idle.
Greenday - Time Of Your Life.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Scar Tissue, Californication.
Pixies - Where Is My Mind?

For the last year...since the release of their most recent album

Jimmy Eat World - 23 :)

Foo Fighters - Best of You

Awesome sound, and really emotionally propelling lyrics. It's a song I can personaly relate to.

Feck, I love that one as well......can I have two???? :D

My shortlist would be:

The Jam - That's Entertainment
Elliott Smith - Sweet Adeline
Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra
Radiohead - Go To Sleep (Little Man Being Erased)
R.E.M. - Shiny Happy People
and Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Eek, I'd probably choose Mr.Blue Sky because whilst it isn't my favourite song, I don't think I'd ever get bored of it.

Smashing Pumpkins - Soma

It starts off so soft, gets hard, has an amazing guitar solo, and continually evolves throughout the song. That's what's so great about most of the songs on Siamese Dream, they change as they go rather than reverting back to the same old verse and then chorus, verse, chorus.

Some runners-up:
Radiohead - The Tourist
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (all parts)

Explosions in the Sky -- the only moment we were alone

That song is just beautiful....

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Redemption Songs

Competition -

Bob Marley & The Wailers - No Woman No Cry
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - May this be love
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Manic Depression
Anything off of the Red Hot Chili Peppers "By the way" cd
The entire beatles albums of abbey road and revolver
The Black Keys - Thickfreakness

So many others to contend, but redemption songs
