Just Ordered World Of Warcraft

No! Don't play PvE, it's for carebears! :p

I am amazed by Blizzard's service. Since I didn't get a new password yet, I called a toll-free number. Within 5 minutes they sent me a new password. I am really impressed!

It's a miracle

Don't play on a PvE server....don't.

You'll regret it.

I just don't want my new char to be ganked by some level 60 bully.

But by the time you're at a level where you're in places where you're likely to get ganked by bullies (which isn't that much of a problem anymore because they won't get any honour and they can go to BG if they want combat) you'll probably be able to escape. If not, you suck!

Druids are the best class for getting away, I think.

Thanks dude. I'll make my decision tonight. By the way, 'carebear' is even in the glossary of the manual. Funneh.

Dude, lemme know which server you joined. I'll look you up tonight.

My Horde (drood) character is on Bladefist but I don't play him much anymore - although I'm getting back into WoW and I think I might bother actually trying to push him to 60. Mostly on Earthen Ring RP nowadays with a pissed-off chain-smoking night elf hunter. RP ftmfw.

Same server (got it as an advised server so I took it anyhow). I am on the side of the Horde tho. I am an Orc Warlock called Orson. Reason for the name: Orc -> Mork -> Orson (if I ever start a new Orc char it will be a female called Mindy).

It's PvP btw; I don't want to be called a carebear. :naughty:

You'd think PVE is more group oriented. But what I found is that everyone bands together on PVP servers more than in PVE because the threat of being ganked is there. Higher levels are more likely to stop and help you through a quest too. Getting ganked doesn't happen too often but when it does, just ask for some higher level in the area to swing by and chase em down.

If you are worried about getting ganked then just stay off the path in high enemy traffic areas since people with mounts generally stay on the path. If you are in town just stay by a guard.

I started on PVE with a group of my friends but later we all went to a PVP server. Switching to PVP sorta got me interested in wow again like when i first started.

PVP ftw.
Oh and get in with a good helpful guild.

Warlocks ftw! I like this class a lot. Is it still true btw that warlocks can get a steed at basically no cost and that riding it comes naturally?

PvP servers make you want to level so you can gank the people who ganked you. It's a prime motivator.

It happens, and it's a pain, but don't worry much abotu it. They won't get many Contribution Points (if any at all) - just get in a gryphon & quest in another region until the jerks leave. In the long run you'll be so glad you chose PVP; the battles are so much more reandom and enjoyable!

Yep. PvP is great. Oh the battles I've had...using level 30 Simmo as bait for my level 47 druid to kick the shit out of people...huge running battles over bridges and rivers...forming ad-hoc raid groups and banding together to push the alliance all the way back to mother****ing Elwynn forest...Stranglethorn is the best place ever. :D

Hillsbrad open-air pk raids ftw!

And yes, warlocks do rock.

thought this might be appropriate (I'm a fan so shut up)

Why, why! WHY?! Do people play this game, it is purely addictive. No one can play it and actually enjoy the thing, the graphics and gameplay sucks.

They perfected the technique of how to get customers hooked. There are SO much better games out there for free.

So. .. much. . .necromancy. . .

and i quit this game a couple of weeks ago after realizing that the $12 a mont (package) could get me alot of music/concert tickets. That and the fact that i can't ever recal having actual fun on it.

O right, I forgot. You know what I like better than I do myself. How dumb of me to think I play this game for fun. But no, of course I play because I'm addicted. That damn addiction of playing perhaps 10 hours a week is KILLING ME! I've lost my house, my job, my girlfriend and dog because of it!

And while the engine it runs on may be simple, the artwork of the game is stunning.

I admit to addiction and enjoying it.

Seriously, I don't care.

Never played it myself, but I would have stopped as soon as I noticed any sign of it affecting my relationship with my girlfriend.

Nice to see you sorted it out. Now burn the disks, format your computer, burn your computer, hack blizzard and delete your account and never even say the letters 'W', 'O' and 'W' within 20 words of each other. :)

I've tried WoW on many occasions; I just can't enjoy it.

I had over 250 days played (6000 hours logged into WoW) when I quit.

Probably won't go back.

WTB Life PST

To be honest, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be playing. I've been real busy as of late and I've been unable to make 95% of my guild raids. And they're pretty much hardcore raiders. They want to be one of the top guilds on our server's Horde progression. I think the only reason I haven't been booted yet for my raid attendance is: A) The GM and others like me, and B) My previous raid attendance and contribution when we were still grinding our way through pre-BC content was rock solid. First in the guild with full Tier 2, aw yeah.

So I'm pretty much left doing quests in the meantime, since I don't care for PVP much. But I'm running out of those to do now, having cleared all of Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley now. So if it looks like things aren't going to change soon, I might as well stop subscribing. At least temporarily.

Going into Rehab, Abs?

...
I heard that they have psychologists working for Blizzard to make WoW more addictive. Any truth to that?

'sigh'
No.
'sigh'
*cough* WoW sucks! *cough*

Step-by-step
1.Get a kitchin timer
2.Hook a Revolver to the timer.
3.Set the timer to 30min

If the timer reaches zero, the Revolver will fire, killing you. Do not let this happen, play only 29 mins.

need tips on how to avoid addiction!!?

Resist all urges to join a raiding community so you can get epic gear and have noobs go 'wow you look so cool' etc.

Unless you already dont have a life, raiding communities (well, good ones like my one until i quit wow) go to the latest instances around 4 times a week. 7 until 1am usually...i had no life.
