...and I'm excited. I love that series and hope maybe SquareEnix makes a sequel one day. Now only if I can earn a million dollars and get laid once more my life will be complete.

BTW, tried playing FFVIII once again too and all I have to say is, "eeesh!" PSX games haven't aged well at all. :/

I hope somehow Parasite Eve 1 & 2 doesn't look as aged.

I never played the sequel but Parasite Eve was a great time. Scary for its time. I can't imagine it looking better than FF8... why would you play that anyways? That's like the worst gameplay of all Final Fantasies. The Draw system is just... horrible...

Not as good looking as Parasite Eve 2 though. (for it's time anyways)

Such a great game. Oh I hope time hasn't been a cruel mistress to one of my favorite PSX games of all time.

I agree to that. The draw system was pretty stupid imo, but at least the limit breaks and summons were pretty damn cool though. To a small degree, I liked it's universe too, but the romance-esque story isn't really my thing. Besides, I didn't pay for it anyways as it was free. (my cousin gave it to me)

I just can't get past that draw system. I played it to the end but on the final boss I had not drawn enough to even be marginally effective and I just quit playing. The limit breaks were great and the weapon crafting wasn't bad... but the summons had the issue of 'boost' which was another horrible implementation. You had to get boost to get their maximum effectiveness but you after about 50 summons of speed-tapping square or whatever... you began to hate summoning. Also the main way to get money in the game was to take those damn SEED tests... there should never be quizzes in an RPG. The only good part was that you could cheat and get tons of money fairly quickly. It was very pretty for its time though and the story was one of the most well crafted in the series short of 7.

I haven't played a Final Fantasy since 10-2 though. I own 12 but I haven't even started the game.

You should at least play XII. Forget the garbage that is X-2 or even X ever happened, XII is a much better FF.

I was blown away how you could turn on the spot and your feet would react to the movement when I first played it.

Ha ha, really. :3

Remember the original Resident Evil? When you have your weapon in the ready position and you turn your character to aim, his/her body remains frozen in place like a plastic army man figurine as you scoot along the surface.

You are a very good person.
You like me. yay.

Now let's petition for a Parasite Eve sequel/REmake goddamit! :p

Unlikely to ever happen because Square have their heads up their asses with mediocre crap and rehases like Final Fantasy.

I've heard so much bad about FFXIII that I am starting to wonder if Square is just going to be falling off the map in the coming years. They've sure made some negligible crap as of late. I want to see them properly revive the Chrono Trigger franchise and remake FF7 exactly as it was with completely updated graphics. I mean that process would require virtually no writing or story development issues and would sell millions of copies. It seems like it would be a ridiculously profitable venture but they only offer cockteases.

My guess is that they'll save it for their last chance and rising from mediocrity.

So was XIII really that bad I wonder or is it just mediocre?

BTW, I'd much rather they remake FFVI (III on the SNES) with updated graphics. Much better story and villain imo, although VII is my second favorite FF. Also ITT, A Parasite Eve 1 & 2 REmake.

Man, so much to do and yet too much bullshitting. SquareEnix needs to get their heads out of their buns.

I only ever played the first game but got completely pissed off by being interrupted in game by shitty random fights.

They've already remade I-IV on DS, they'd be dumb to stop now (or continue on 3DS even).
Final Fantasy IV on the DS actually has quite nice retoolings of the dialogue sequences from the SNES original. Considering how Final Fantasy VI's sequences were often begging for greater dimensionality and dynamics, a remake could be absolutely ****ing amazing... or prohibitively complex for a lazy, lazy company.

But then I'd take a DS remake of the fifth one just for the dressing up fun of the job system.

(Dawww....)

Europe never got the first Parasite Eve, did it? It's rare that anyone wants to jump into a series with the sequel.

Wow wtf sedako that would definitely give me nightmares as a kid D:

I never finished the first, but knew the second

some people dont like the second cuz it went like a resident evil rip off, though in my opinion it wasnt that bad

is supposed that a new one will come to the psp but who knows how it will end,and I dont have hopes for a new parasite eves cuz squaresoft is now finalfantasyandclonessoft

Yeah that transformation sequence was scary as hell when I was a kid. It's still pretty wild today.

PE2 sucks.
So does your mom.... Ooooooooh :O

I wish that would happen, but we both know that's wishful thinking right? Square should either just dump Enix or go with their own IPs for awhile imo so they can focus on the good stuff they haven't been doing for the past 10 years.

What are you talking about? We just said they'd already remade the first four games within the last 10 years (isn't that implied by saying DS?). As far as I'm aware, all of the remakes were pretty well done and well received, so I'm not sure where this "wishful thinking" nonsense is coming from...

Sure don't. Explain yourself, John, before I slap your shit up and down this thread.

3rd Birthday is the new Parasite Eve game coming for PSP. 3rd-person shooter with Aya Brea, but unlike Dirge of Cerberus. There's a "body-switching" mechanic that lets you cycle through team members in real time. Game's coming out this year.

anyone who likes PE2 is a casualfag in my book.

PE was a meh for me when I first played it back in 1998. Probably because I played Resident Evil and Silent Hill before I played PE.

Why is PE2 for casual fags? Is it because they ditched the ABS combat system?

(ABS, ABT, ATB, I can't remember the acronym, but it's the 'wait' meter common in all earlier JRPGS.)

but is a full sequel or prequel/spin-off/alternate universe thing?
