Elephants a mild threat?

A tusk from a male elephant can punch through half-a-foot of CONCRETE.
They have skin that can deflect smhg shots (Even guards cant do that),
they weight 5000kilos and live in herds of 6 or more.
And they can charge faster than a human, and thus, Antlion guards.

Wolves would own bullsquids. One woold attack from front, others would sneak around and latch on / bite the back and tail. Then wait for shock and blood loss to do its job.

Too bad elephants are pretty ****en cowardly. Fire scares the shit out of em ffs. what do you think a massive ALG is going to do for their mental stability. I doubt elephants would win in the long run as they would be outnumbered by the antlions plus guards combined. And that shit about the ak47 shots not piercing their skin is ****en BS.

Antlions arnt hard to kill, i know i shot it once with a crossbow and killed it in one hit, and im pretty sure i did the same with the magnum, all u got to do is hit it in the right spot under its neck.
This was in easy. :afro:
Under an elephants skin i think is all mushy.
The persions used them.

Also here is a pretty big cat, google search liger, cross between a male lion and a female tiger.

I just read about all the enemies in hl1 and i think they arnt that tough, except the icthosaur, the head crab mum.
The houndeye doesnt look that tough, except for the fact that in planet halflife it said a hound eye could emit destructive harmonics capable of rupturing the internal organs of their prey. :frog:
Alien controller dont look that bad, the aien grunt does. :sniper:

I reckon hippos will be around, and a rhino i reckon could kill a antlion guard. :monkee:

Maybe i will make a poll on who people think would be winning earth or xen.

Look, all we have to do is force evolution. Then we get elephants that have the power of 5 elepahants, and tusk battle-armour.

What else can we forcefully evolve?

GIAGANTIC LAND SQUIDS!

^YES OMG betst post ever.

THE LAND SQUID!!!!!

Anyways, head to head an antlion guard would most likely kill an elephant. Antlion guards look entirely capable of smashing concrete walls. however if a group of elephants took one by suprise smashy smashy. They would probably knock it onto it's back quite fast then break it's legs and hit it's venerable underbelly.

Antlion Guards arnt that strong its just their head which doesnt look like it can piece anything at all.
Also i dont think elephants would no where to hit an antlion.
Girafes are pretty strong i think they can easily break you bones if it takes a swing at you with its head, it can also stomp on you.

Ja, go ahead. But as a "who would beat who" poll, or a "WTF happened to teh wildlife" poll?

Toou-che!
Besides, Theyt are scared of fire from experience. If they have not encouintereed ALG's they wont be scared of them.
BTW you can kill ALG with a Magnum (As said before) in one shot. But anyways, i think Rhinos would pwn thm, theyre like Ang's with horns

Hopefully there will be some earth animals killing some xen creatures. :)

How the hell can you kill an ALG in 1 hit with the magnum?? they abosrb like 3 rockets and two grenades before they go down.

Thats because you are firing it at its head its toughest spot.
You gotta get it under the neck or belly.

i think the earth animals would win,

elephant is a match for the guard

the wolves would take on the houndeyes, theough i think its more closley matched

and wolves should be able to take on an antlion

Guards and Elephants probably wouldn't meet though... they don't have the same sort of habitat.

Interesting. Some points are being overlooked though I feel. A bullsquid may be happy as a (probably extinct) pig in S**t wallowing in Toxic waste, but how well is it going to fare in a desert, artic tundra, tropical climate or whatever. The Earth wildlife living there has had a good few million years to adapt to exploit its environment, the Xen stuff has been forced there involuntarily from who knows what climate.
So whilst a Bullsquid may be able to tear apart a pack of wolves running towards it in a Black Mesa corridor, when it is (possibly) strugging to survive in Alaska I'd put my money on the pack.
Other considerations would be how the Xen wildlife exist. From what I've gathered it seems that Antlions are highly agressive but only when their territory is encroached on (Or when some beardy twat starts chucking pheremones about the place). Most animals would figure out just to leave them be and get on with their lives, unless their territory was being encroached on.

I think a more appropriate question would be 'How do the Xen species intergrate with the earths ecology'

Hmm, time for me to STFU I feel.

A wolf taking down an antlion or a bullsquid? haha wow that's just laughable. While I realize it is just a video game and the creatures are all made up, a bullsquid survives several direct hits from a shotgun. Show me a wolf that survives one, and I'll show you a million dollars. And do you really think wolf teeth are strong enough to pierce an antlions exoskeleton? I can guess probably not.

houndeyes are gay. they would so get snapped by wolves, no contest IMO.

Antlions DONT survive shotgun bullets, and this is just a game, when u have a squad of rebels it takes alot of shots to kill them. In real life you would be on the ground in a lot of pain if u got shot in the leg.
So really, halflife isnt 100% realistic.

But the houndeyes have short range attacks, wolves have to go in at point blank range.

Well you could also beat an antlion to death with a crowbar in the game ;)

But on topic (sorta) take a small rat or any predatory mammal you can find, and put it up against an equally sized tarantula, centipede, or other carnivorous invertibrate, and see what happens. My point being that no mammal (wolf) could take on a same sized insectoid, and live in one piece

True, but thats becuase insects such as spiders wouldnt be the way they are if they where as big as wolves, and if so wolves would have just evolved to cope with them, maybe. I really dont know. I wanna see a bear killing a xen creature in hl3 or an expansion for 2.
A thing i h8 in hl1 (havent played it but wat ive read) is that most of the creatures are to me, 100% unrealistic, like i dont think any organic thing could shoot plasma blast or sonic waves, JUST stupid to me.
In hl2 the antlions look believable, so do the headcrabs (close enough), headcrabs do because you believe that they can take control of your nervous system and control you. Onthing i need explaining but is how the fast zombies are still able to move, do thye just have no skin because they dont need to worry if any diseases get to them or they get maggots eating them.
Hope theres a Half life mmog.

Well I don't see what would be so unrealistic about that...I mean there are weird things here on earth, like the shrimp that stuns prey with sonic blasts from its claws, fish that use electricity, and even our own mind-controlling parasites. Not to mention the xen creatures are from an entirely different dimension.
