I'm really pleased that they've been rescued, I was certain that they'd be dead for sure. I wonder why the hostage takers kept them alive for so long instead of killing them as they did to the American guy?

One British and two Canadian peace activists held hostage in Iraq have been freed in an operation by multinational forces.
Norman Kember, 74, of Pinner, north-west London, was one of four men seized in Baghdad in November.
He is said to be in a "reasonable condition" after being freed. Canadians James Loney and Harmeet Singh Sooden, also freed, have been hospitalised.
The body of murdered US citizen Tom Fox was found in Baghdad two weeks ago.
