I've been wondering about this for a few years now... On all my keyboards there is a line thing that pertrudes from the keys F and J and a dot on the 5 on the numpad... wth are they for?

it's for people who touch type. you place the forefingers of each hand on those two keys.

so take your left hand:
little finger --> A
ring finger --> S
swearing finger --> D
index finger --> F

take the right hand:
little finger --> ; (don't ask me why that's just how it is)
ring finger --> L
swearing finger --> K
nose picking finger --> J

the theory being that you'll only need to move your fingers a short distance when you need to touch type. in reality no-one uses this. on the other hand i find it useful if i'm playing games in the dark, i can quickly orientate myself on the keyboard just by looking for those two little divets. not using them for their original purpose but meh, still useful i guess.

meh, i never use them... still i can type without looking at the keyboard.. but that comes from years of practice... since i now know where all the keys are without looking at the keyboard.

Same here, thats why if I'm not in just the right position when I type, I'll get so many spelling errors. Same goes for different sized keyboards (looks at his new one) like that one there which is smaller and I'm erring constantly with that at the moment :)

Hehe, I know what you mean, i also got a new keyboard and mouse for Christmas and I'm constantly pressing the wrong keys :P

I got myself one of those with the extra buttons at the top, its one of those Trust ones, nice keyboard but some of the keys are in different positions, gonna be confusing, not to mention there's an annoying power button, I'm so gonna be accidently hitting that and so far can't find a way to disable it. Might pull it apart and remove the power off and sleep buttons completely, avoid accidently shutting down. It's smaller though, so room for two keyboards and a mouse

Now I've no room for the tablet or the other mouse lol :E

OH I hate the power off/sleep button!
I have a Logitec with alot of extra buttons all over and rigth on the side of keyboard theres a small key thats just asking for a accidental hit. But I dont dare to take the keyboard apart. I love this keyboard.

I got a DiNova bluetooth keyboard and mouse for christmas... and i love it :P I checked the price on the net for it and it's a bit on the pricy side but i like it very much... It's very elegant and stylish and imho has great functionality and i love the bluetooth thing... now i only need a bluetooth mic & headset :P
