before doing some research unless you have a question.
for 3 pages there has only been 1 person who said anything
relevent to my thread, the rest of you have only been trying
to ruin what i intended to be a serious discussion. this forum is
almost as bad as the running with scissors forums.


here is a good place to do research on Ki before posting here : www.ki-teachings.com

now anyone can post here as long as its either relevent Ki
post or a relevent question about Ki.
 
So physically, how do you harness Ki? Do you somehow induce nuclear fission or fusion with your mind? If so, then wouldn't the majority of your focus be on controlling it rather than harnessing? Because a slight break in concentration would result in an H-Bomb-like explosion.

no first of all you would never have enough energy
to cause a huge explosion. Ki energy isnt feesible for
that kind of thing, because it would take huge amounts of it.
Ki is practiced more for the healing aspects, and creating
the right state of mind. not blowing things up like a cartoon.

So Ki energy is different than the energy that we normally experience?
 
there are many different kinds of energy.
for example, the energy created by burning
fuels isnt the same as Ki. Chi, Qi, and Ki are
the same though.

I always measure Ki in 'dragon ball torques per square ohm'. That way I'm not confused by the 'ki-age of shit over number of fanatics cubed' method.

anyway i dont really believe in ki, but i do try and concentrate and work out a lot. anyway i just thought i would post what im seeing.

we have had more mature conversations about things of lesser value, i just think that dbz and other anime have twisted the thoughts of many people about "ki".
 
Perhaps you're both right. I strayed from standard...but I didn't intend to demean Sid in any fashion. I was merely joining in some side conversatons...while making Ki the subject of the comedy. I'm sorry, Sid. I didn't mean to tread on Ki, I was only trying to add to the comical aspect of this thread...now I realize I went over the line.

yes this is the truth. Ki is an ancient practice going
back for thousands of years, and is the grounds of
respected philosophies such as accupucture and Reki
and many popular and cerdited forms of martial arts.
but people now htink Ki is just some firball throwing stuff from
a cartoon so they dont give it any respect. its sad.

you could argue that all matter is made up of waves (ok i learned this in chemistry...twice lol; so please no flaming)-- as in all matter does have energy if you learned about electromagnetic radiation and all. therefore all matter is in fact made of waves which do have energy; just that larger objects have wavelengths so small that you can't notice 'em. so we're all waves, woooo yay :cheese:
of course that would be more of a physical energy and probably not whatever sid is talking about, spiritual energy or whatever.

i think sid should maybe not call people morons or stupid if they just disagree with what he says. just because people don't believe the same thing as you does not make them stupid; you can't force people to agree with you and take away their right to form their own opinions.

that said, flames, insults, mockery, etc. shouldn't be going the other way either.

but Ki isnt some mystical spiritual energy.
think bout this. does a car engine start
without energy? no. does a rocket take
off without energy? no. does a light bulb light
without being fed energy? nope.

now, does your brain function without energy? no.
does your heart beat without energy? no.
without energy you would just die. Ki is the life
giving energy that exists. it isnt a spiritual thing
its a part of the physical dimension.

now some people learned to manipulate the energy.
to make it go where they want, to concetrate it into
a confined aread. to absorb more enrgy from their surroundinggs.
this is simply a discipline, like weight training.
by maniulating weights a person can become stronger.
Ki works the same, by maniulating energy a person
can do certaint things like store more energy and
use it for their own purposes.

Nice response Lil' Timmy. So Ki is fact huh? That's a new one on me. If your going to make broad statement like that then give us some evidence to back it up. Just saying "research it" doesn't cut it. You can't create video evidence either? Figures. And yes I am posting that it is a superstition, unless you can prove otherwise.
