Let's all theme every single forum to Hl2 levels!

I would not care if the politics forum was retired. I do post on other forums about politics. It's a wide world..of web ..so to speak, lots of other options for the politically obsessed.

Also there are wayyyyy too many subforums and sub-sub forums on this site. We don't have enough regular posters to justify it all. We need to pack everyone together in just a few forums like a big group orgy of posting. Surely film/tv/dvd/music can just be done under general off topic?
 
The politics thread is a place where you can rant and rave about the crappy government and jusice system of your country, (I'm looking at you Britain)

Why does everyone see the politics forum as a hate infested riot fueled dark hellpit? And don't just say because it is without reason. There is always disagreement in the political world. Many people have political minds and the politics forum was used to contain the political hatred from spreading to other forums, and apart from the Discussion on the Seven Hour War thread, the hatred has been contained. Prove me wrong with solid evidence on more than five threads, then I shall stand down
 
i asked for it several times, and did a couple of dumb stuff to have it exist. And i regret it :p the politics forum must go. It's pure crap. Stern rules over it with his absolute reasoning anyway.
 
No, don't close it down! Think man! Think of the people! You have no idea what you'll unleash!!! Hate will spread across this forum like wildfire, thousands will be banned
 
Someone kill the cs community please, I'll let the politics slide then.

The truth is that I don't visit the majority of the forums on this site, but perhaps there are threads in them that I would have actually read and even contributed to had they been posted in a single, more general forum. Furthermore, I don't see how all these separate forums contribute to making the site more manageable, given the ratio of moderators to members.

Personally, I think that a restructuring would help this site, but if the future can be predicted from the past, I don't see it happening. :)

I do not want to visit this forum, a TV forum, a film forum, a general forum, a video games forum and a politics forum. If you ask why we have politics forum, why do we have a TV forum? They both get active use. I will never join or at least activly contribute to a forum entirly about TV or politics. I like this community and I want to be able to discuss what I want in it.

If we kill the politics forum....then all hell will break loose in the general off topic forum....and the world will end....and pizza won't taste like pizza anymore. :( And I'm not even going to mention the potato gun-weilding coffee tables that will ultimately usher us all to our untimely and less-than-fresh-scented doom.
 
The politics area is just a stupid place to moan, groan, bitch, whine, & complain about a persons Gov't....hmmm reminds me of the Battlefield-2 fanbase :dozey:.

the politics section is like cancer & should be removed :frown:.

The politics create's decention among the community.

Therefore the politics section is irrelevant.

I wouldn't call it all bitching and whining and moaning. You sound like the kind of person that doesn't like free speech. Some people don't like their government's, and in many parts of the world they are entitled to the right to complain about it. If people didn't complain, they we would be walked all over by our governments. But, ****, see this is why we need a political forum; I'm already arguing about politics outside of it and it hasn't even been deleted yet.
 
But I really wish the politics forum should be renamed to something more appropriate if it will not be explunged. Im sure you guys can think of something creative :D.

I acknowledge your attachment to this community and your desire to express views on politics, but you seemingly didn't quite understand the essence of my post.

I was suggesting ways to maximise the potential of this website, based on my observation of other sites. I did not call for the elimination of your priviledges to post ideas on politics, television, music or whatever other topics you certainly have highly interesting things to say about. What I was suggesting was a restructuring and tightening of the forums, not a ban on reasonable discussion topics.

What you have to keep in mind is that this site's roots and strengths lie in being a place for information and discussion about Half-Life (2). This is what the focus should be on. The more you diversify the more you weaken it, because you have to spend time and power on any additional things that need management.

Furthermore, I'm not so attached to these forums that this would be an issue I lose any sleep over. It's not that there's anything at stake for me. I'm fine with any decisions made or any strategy followed by the administration of this site or whoever else might be in charge.

Can I make a suggestion, There can be a babe forum but it has to be appropraite & of course it should have rules. Use spoiler tags, No nudity, nothing showing explicit body parts etc...
 
No babe forum ffs. You have all of the entire internet full of porn and forums dedicated to that stuff anyway if you feel the need to discuss it.

Also, it'll attract a bunch of horny 12 year olds and we'll get even more morons on the site.

Augh...

I agree, the politics forum should go. And anyone who brings stuff out of the politics forum should be temp banned.

At least, put a warning up when you click on it, because it scares me. And it would scare away any lurkers and/or newbies too.
 
Politics hasn't been so bad since a lot of the trolls got banned.
 
It's okay, it means moderators can recognise the trolls easier and have more excuses to ban them! BANBANBAN.

+ If you don't like the discussion there stay out, it's really that simple.
