That does look fairly cool. Sadly, I remember being quite 'that looks fairly cool' about the original, and look how that turned out.

You can't really see much from such a small pic. Fingers crossed it turns out to be everythhing the original promised. There was potential.

Cant really see much, im hoping for a ingame trailer soon. The CG trailer released at last years E3 was kickass.

Yeah, definitely had potential and in all honestly it wasn't an absolute failure but man.. it could've been a lot better.

Nar, on a more serious note. The image looks a bit meh. But saying that how good can you expect it to be? I supose its better to just wait for some better images.
 
I need to buy the 1st killzone just to get up to speed. I heard it had some crazy weapons. What were to good and bad points of the 1st.
 
I'm willing to bet that even if the trailer for Killzone 2 ingame looks awesome, it will still be a complete disapointment. They have a lot to live up to.

Yep, I think you are right, I just read in another forums that the pics I posted aren't from Killzone 2, they are fake, so sorry, I guess we still have to wait till tonight...

Hi-res pic.

Apart from the somewhat lo-res textures (and that shadow behind the Helghast looks strange) I think it looks pretty awesome, however I'm waiting to see how it looks in motion.

Killzone was NEVER! a good game to begin with.

I disagree, although the majority think it's a piece of turd game I and many others believe it's a good game despite its flaws.

Thats the thing though, Killzone was NEVER! a good game to begin with. It got bellow average reviews for a first person shooter. I'm not saying its a bad game. But it was always a 7/10 game if you ask me. I'm still not sure how Killzone 2 managed to become the Halo of the Playstation when it will obviously just end up like Resistance Fall of Man. Another generic first person shooter.

Asuka, the game was just very mediocre. I really don't recomend wasting your time...I played for all of an hour and never touched the game again. Story stunk. Poor gameplay. REALLY poor controls. There's just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many better games on the PS2.

I'm probably being overly critical because I just couldn't stand the game, but I cannot think of any good points. I guess the graphics were good by PS2 standards, but even in that the game suffered from some pretty aweful drops in framerate. BUT that really has no bearing on why I play a game anyway...which is probably why I won't play Killzone 2. IMO, Killzone 2 will probably just be a tech demo...eye candy that will interest me for about an hour. Just because a game looks good, doesn't mean it is a good game...IE, a perfectly-formed turd still stinks...it's still a turd. Killzone was an absolute poster child for this. Hopefully they prove me wrong with 2.

Fun weapons and a nice atmosphere in places.

Pretty poor though.
 
Well you guys have a point, although i think you cant say the story stinks if you've only played it for an hour...

I have played through the entire game. The story does indeed stink.
 
Killzone Liberation for PSP was good but I'm not sure about original...

Does the story from the original continue in Liberation or is it a new story with new places and such (some characters do return like Templar and Rico that I've seen)? I've never actually played the PSP version.

In Killzone: Liberation, two months after the events of Killzone, most of southern Vekta is still under Helghast control. The rules of war have been cast aside with the Helghast General, Armin Metrac, employing brutal measures in order to seize the initiative and strengthen his position further. Returning as Templar, players will be sent on a mission to undertake a covert operation to save hostages captured by Metrac, while ISA troops continue the fight for liberty.
So, story is nothing special but gameplay was great. You can download demo from HERE.
 
Have to see it running to really decide.

To me, even if they get pretty close to the target footage then it will be pretty darn good (assuming it is actually fun and not just pretty). Motorstorm obviously didn't achieve exactly what they wanted to, but it is still an incredible game and it looks fantastic!! I, for one, am very excited by this!
 
Guys, it is one screenshot taken in a completely dark room with only the flash from the gun illuminating it. It is also pre-Alpha. Wait for the video they're releasing after the press event tonight. That will give you a much better idea of how it is looking right now. Also there is confirmation of more screenshots coming soon.

I liked Killzone personally. It wasn't perfect, but damn if it didn't get the gritty war atmosphere down. I'm hoping this one improves and expands. And for me, it could have the lamest story ever if the gameplay turned out to be fresh and compelling.
 
It's hard to believe this thread has made 3 pages based on a teeny tiny screenshot of a sequel to a very average fps. I know the cgi footage was impressive, but come on guys :)
