Know any voters in Indiana or North Carolina?

Hell, if this is a competition I'll take being an idiot over a drug addicted teenager any day.
Oh, that's hitting below the belt. Or it would be, if I was actually a drug addict. I did coke a few times in high school several years ago, haven't touched it since and have no plans to. Somehow, despite that I've ingested illegal substances before, I still managed to graduate high school with honors, get a 99th percentile score on the SAT (as well as on almost every other standardized test I've taken in my life), be accepted into a very good university (they call UNC a "public ivy", one of the top five unis in the US), and generally kick ass in almost every aspect of my life.

I'd rather be a well-rounded, interesting, successful, and open-minded person than an idiot, even if it means occasionally taking a few drugs.

Staticprimer, too bad you couldn't make it... luckily the Obama rally was on-campus so going to it was as simple as printing a ticket off the internet and walking about 15 minutes to the stadium :) Ron Paul is going to stop by UNC soon as well for any of you rabid RPites that live hereabouts.

I think him being part of that church killed it for me so I'm probably going to vote McCain.

The only thing I like about McCain is that he's not Bush.

Iliketobenaked, seriously? You're judging someone based on something their pastor said?

if some white dude was part of a racist white supremacist church we wouldn't like that guy either would we? Only now that he's running for pres. does Barrack distance himself ,but he was part of that church for 20 years That pastor baptized his kids wed (sp?) him and his wife etc.... so yeah and also comments his wife made turned me off too.

So obviously you think any politician that ever used Billy Graham as a spritial advisor should have never been elected as president? because every president since I think Nixon has used Graham for guaidance. And as you probably haven't heard, since graham is white and wright is black, that graham has said Jews are destroying this country as Jon Stewert pointed out so well yesterday.

So why do you think Wright has been in the headlines for the last 8 weeks over what he said and you haven't heard anything about what Billy Graham, who again is white, hasn't got a mention. And why is it ok for McCain to be affiliated with the likes of Pat Robertson who said we deserved 9/11, or with Huagee (sp?) who said all catholics are whores, or John Dobbson that blamed Katrina on us?

Or does none of that matter to you because all those guys are white while Wright is black? Because that's certainly the media's position on the issue.

I love how america is the only country where if it's economy is being destroyed, thousands of people are dying in our name, and the consitution is being ripped apart all we can talk about is what some black pastor said. Can this country get any ****ing dumber?

Also OP, making a shitty YouTube video doesn't count as political activism. Get out and actually do something, picket a Hillary rally, send angry letters, be old enough to vote.

I am active. I make calls for Obama's campaign. I can't magically turn myself 18.
and you're still an idiot for making that post so I will never take anything you say seriously anymore.

frankly I don't think anybody president should have a religious adviser.
And you sound pretty condescending have a glass of water before you choke yourself with your intellectual arrogance .

I agree with you that no president should have one, but guess what, they all do. So again, what is your point with this Wright thing when you are willing to give white preachers that said the same if not worse a pass? Please, do explain that.

I sound condescending and I have intellectual arrogance? wtf are you talking about? Are you trying to say I sound elitst?

It's quite clear that they are interested in electing a black president first instead of one that's actually qualified for the job.

Perhaps you should try seeing past your chauvinistic, irrational hatred for one of the few great women we have in politics.

... /me see's mushroom cloud reach 40,000 feet.

"Damn."

Serious time! There has never been anything in Obama's writings, his words, his senate record, or his upbringing, to suggest some affirmative action, white-hating conspiracy. Do the words of one, lone pastor - a man wholly distinct from Obama, I feel inclined to remind - really make you doubt his integrity that much? If so, I fail to see why.

I can tell you that many members of my family are churchgoers, and that all of them have sat through sermons they didn't like or agree with, some more volatile than others. Even had their children baptized by the very people they've had issues with. And yet they keep going because it's part of their community, and a single pastor who enters the pulpit doesn't define their entire religion or church for them.

That Wright has been such a detrimental force for Obama is a sign of how easily people have been duped and scared by politics and the media.

very VERY well said, my friend.

Don't mind the interuption, but inb4 Solaris: preferably no more Iraq debate in this thread. Take it to another surely.

One day, we will discover a cure for idiocy that will cleanse our species of morons. Enjoy what time you have left.

That quote reminds me way too much of similar comments made by the author of Mein Kampf.

Because we are doing such a bang up job controlling the killing now? We have no effect on how many people die in that country wether we are in there or not. The only area we control is the green zone, and that's turning to shit now too.

As of late, the south side of Chicago has been more dangerous than Baghdad for Americans.

What exactly do you people like about McCain?

- Wont raise taxes.
- Has decades of experience in Government.
- Is a moderate and has brought parties together far more than Clinton or Obama.
- Naval Aviator, POW, and his son is in Iraq. These will make more responsible military decisions.
- Is against pork barrel spending. (Zero ear-marks in past 8 years. Clinton had 250+, Obama 80+)
- Against socialized medicine. An ER Surgeon friend of mine is greatly against it.
- Will actually use his veto pen, unlike Bush.
- Isn't surrounded by Neo-cons.

I can go on and on....

Obama

- Will raise taxes
- Socialized health care
- Retreat from Iraq = will embolden our enemies
- Believes in Afro-Centric Theology
- Friend of terrorist William Ayers, and Weather Underground (bombed NYC Police HQ, Capitol Building, and Pentagon)
- Little to know experience in Government
- Backed heavily by Move-On.org and other extreme-leftist groups.
- Has the most liberal senate voting record.
- Has NEVER brought both parties together.

It's quite clear that they are interested in electing a black president first instead of one that's actually qualified for the job.

I find it sad that many people on this forum are so naive to actually realize that the facts behind the recent primary votes show this to be true. In Pennsylvania, over 92% of voting blacks cast their ballot for Obama. 92% is a tremendous proportion, and clearly supports the above quote.

So again, what is your point with this Wright thing when you are willing to give white preachers that said the same if not worse a pass?

I think the difference here is that Obama sat in the pews for 20 years listening to the afro-centric rhetoric coming out of Wright and clearly supported such ideology. It wasn't until Obama was going to announce his bid for the Presidency did he dis-invite Wright from the announcement ceremony.

If Obama somehow didn't hear these incindiary comments during 20 years of being in that church and he thought his Pastor was a non-issue, why would he dis-invite him to the announcement?

I also find it quite disingenuous that Obama originally said that he never heard these words from Wright, and during his mediocre speech on race prior to the Pennsylvania primary he said he would not disown Wright and likened him to how he cannot disown his own white grandmother. It wasn't until after this past weekend, where Wright spoke these same comments at countless venues did Obama finally see that Wright didn't have his back anymore so Obama threw him under the bus.

My question for Obama is, "What did you know, and when did you know it?".

There has never been anything in Obama's writings, his words, his senate record, or his upbringing, to suggest some affirmative action, white-hating conspiracy.

I will say that Obama has done an incredibly good job keeping his nose clean in regards to him saying such things on the record.

But he has made a few comments which raise questions.

The first of which was when he referred to his grandmother as "your typical white woman".

And the second were his comments to a bunch of swells in San Francisco which clearly showed his elitist attitude toward middle-America (blue collar white people), He said:
Obama said:
You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.
And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

- Wont raise taxes. Not necessarily a good thing
- Has decades of experience in Government. True
- Is a moderate and has brought parties together far more than Clinton or Obama. Has shown himself to be highly conservative in the last four years
- Naval Aviator, POW, and his son is in Iraq. These will make more responsible military decisions. Not necessarily
- Is against pork barrel spending. (Zero ear-marks in past 8 years. Clinton had 250+, Obama 80+) Ok
- Against socialized medicine. An ER Surgeon friend of mine is greatly against it. Anecdotes are irrelevant
- Will actually use his veto pen, unlike Bush. Really depends on the congress, Bush used his when congress went democrat
- Isn't surrounded by Neo-cons. We'll see

I can go on and on....

Obama

- Will raise taxes Needed
- Socialized health care Needed
- Retreat from Iraq = will embolden our enemies Rhetoric. Staying in there increases their anger
- Believes in Afro-Centric Theology Evidence? Besides Wright
- Friend of terrorist William Ayers, and Weather Underground (bombed NYC Police HQ, Capitol Building, and Pentagon) In the past, does not condone their actions
- Little to know experience in Government JFK didn't have experience either
- Backed heavily by Move-On.org and other extreme-leftist groups. Good
- Has the most liberal senate voting record. Good
- Has NEVER brought both parties together. Yet to be seen

- Wont raise taxes. Not necessarily a good thing (JFK was right, Reagan was right, Bush was right. Revenues are way up)
- Has decades of experience in Government. True
- Is a moderate and has brought parties together far more than Clinton or Obama. Has shown himself to be highly conservative in the last four years (Not a chance. Recall Immigration reform? Gang of 14? Are you nuts?)
- Naval Aviator, POW, and his son is in Iraq. These will make more responsible military decisions. Not necessarily (Having a son in harms way would without question make him spend extra time thinking about the consqeuences)
- Is against pork barrel spending. (Zero ear-marks in past 8 years. Clinton had 250+, Obama 80+) Ok

- Will actually use his veto pen, unlike Bush. Really depends on the congress, Bush used his when congress went democrat (once or twice. McCain protested Bush's big spending on countless occasions)

I can go on and on....

Obama

- Will raise taxes Needed (I guess if you want to **** the economy, raise them...)
- Socialized health care Needed (I'm completely happy with my PPO. Big government programs NEVER work.)
- Retreat from Iraq = will embolden our enemies Rhetoric. Staying in there increases their anger (Really? Remember what happened when we retreated from Vietnam? 1,000,000+ dead.... and communism spread further)
- Believes in Afro-Centric Theology Evidence? Besides Wright (You wouldn't have spent 20 years in the pews if you didn't believe in Afro-Centric theology)
- Friend of terrorist William Ayers, and Weather Underground (bombed NYC Police HQ, Capitol Building, and Pentagon) In the past, does not condone their actions (Past? LoL. As of 9/11/01, Ayers said "we didn't do enough!". And why are Obama and Ayers friends?)
- Little to know experience in Government JFK didn't have experience either (Bay of pigs? Cuban missile crisis? If Obama has similar experience, i don't want to see the results. JFK was only loved because he is the Obama (charismatic, young, good looking, spoke well) of the 60's.)
- Backed heavily by Move-On.org and other extreme-leftist groups. Good (Perhaps you should look at the ideology of these groups. And get your head out of the sand.)

I don't think I should even put the effort into correcting all of those idiotic mistakes. It's just a waste of my time.

WARNING: This post has invoked Godwin's Law!

Thread will be closed in accordance with preestablished guidelines.

Please do not make the horribly stupid mistake of comparing anybody or anything to Hitler and/or Nazism again, particularly not a moderator ;) but have I told you about my Final Solution for those aforementioned morons? They're just begging to be cleansed. :upstare:

Anybody, feel free to make an Obama thread or something to continue in this vein of discussion.
