I have kotor on xbox, and judging from some of the screens you folk's posted there seems to be extras and such.

Does anyone really know what the real differences are in the two versions? Anyone here have both, if so which is better?

Cheers

Higher rez better frame rate. 8X AA 8X AF :) Naked chicks. OK maybe not the last one. Ive played it on xbox and I didnt like it. ON Pc its awsome!

Better graphics, and, from what I heard/read (including a developer interview), I think there are a few extras for the PC, although I'm not sure, having not played the XBox version (just PC, and not done yet). The extras are just a few quests or something similarly small, I think.

Naked chicks ;)

where are these fabled naked chicks? and what do they do with their lightsabers?

I actually prefered KOTOR on the XBox - the experience more cinematic on a big tv with 5:1.

It's a great game on both formats either way. The important thing is to turn the subtitles off! I can't stress how much this improves the experience - it's sooooooooooooooooooooo much better.

//edit there are a few xtras on the pc version - these can be downloaded for the XBox via Live. Don't worry if you can't get em tho, as the xtra stuff isn't up to the standard of the rest of the game.

Turn off subtitles? Then when the aliens speak, will it be in english because half the time they are talking anotehr language and I wouldnt be able to understand them.

no, that stuff is still subtitled. If you ask me, subtitles are helpful. there's a lot of dialog, and some of it's not all that fantastic. If you're sitting back, watching the TV, that's one thing, but if you're sitting at the keyboard, you priority might not be sitting back and listening to 2000 hours of so-so dialog.

KOTOR Is so damn great, I have it on PC, I dont know what the xbox verson has, never seen it, Im impressed with the controls for the pc verson, you can tell its an xbox port, but its a very good one.

So how does KOTOR play? Is it a pure RPG like Baldur's Gate or NWN, cause those bored the hell out of me XD

Good game KOTOR.

Completed it as both light and dark side, as well as male and female. Good laugh likes

No RPG has ever reached the level of DIABLO 2 for me.
Maube it´s because it was the 1st one I liked but I´ve never liked another RPg like Diablo 2

The PC version boasts with a new PLANET!!! WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!

Well, until you see this "planet", and it turns out to be a space station, with 1 NPC in it...
The new interface is a given, you dont play with a gamepad... Actually the game is fully playable with just the mouse. Its still flawed though, I cant beleive they dont have any quick selects added. Changing weapons is truly tedious compared to both BG and NWN (you'd think they learned something, dont you?)...
Otherwise its just fancy graphics and bugfixes. The fancy graphics is great improvement, with FSAA and AF, but since its an old Xbox title... Well, you know. Massive memory leaks, ATI problems, slower than a snail glued to a wall...

With my jedi character I never used armour, plus you couldn't use some of ur force powers with armour. I always liked the robes, although they weren't really robe's except if you got those ones in the final level which were pretty cool.

The xbox is supposed to have download content, thou I dont have xbox live. They'll be adding the station you guys mentioned and a few new armours, most likely those super things. I wish my xbox had AA, and FSAA lol.

Well my char could do so much damage with those 2 sabers i never get the chance to even use force powers so why bother?

the only really useful force powers are persuade and the one used to destroy droids. apart from that it's lightsabers all the way.

I used force push maxed out, it would make your enemies spin above the ground and not be able to hurt you, then you could just whack away at them.

I also used cure, very useful so you don't have to buy 100's of medpacks.

Force choke, maxed out to force kill, Very effetive drained all life with two tries and they would never get a shot off.

Also used that statis field one, I think that was mid level from force push. Works on more then one person, so you can freeze like 5 people at once.

All the force powers are very useful if you know how and when to use them, you can take out an entire group and never take an ounce of damage. :)

Play the game again as a scoundrel/counsular, as weak as it gets, with dual blasters (single is a waste). Then you will see that he/she is a better fighter than a steroid packed lightsaber wielding soldier/guardian!
Stasis field rules. Not even your uber fighter could go against 5 Dark Jedi at once and walk away without a scratch. The scoundrel/counsular can do that. Then just imagine how it is against regular troopers. And remember those ugly badass slimy beast you see now and then? I remember when my fighter faced them... They did like 20-30 damage each hit! (sometimes 50!). Now when my tiny little smurf of a counsular faced them (female at that)... They never even got within 10 meters of her.

i found the pistols a bit ineffective against other lightsaber users. my character would fire off a few and they'd hit, but the jedi would just heal themselves while they closed the range so they could melee attack. i suppose you could specialise in blasters but at least have a strong saber style to fall back on. and for the record all my characters so far have been scoundrels with jedi consular class. check my screeny on the other page.

force powers are good to fall back on, although i didn't really have any use for most of them. i used the stasis and choke et al just for the fun of it, there were no real situations that demanded it's use but i suppose that's how it's meant to be. i forgot force heal from my list, that one is invaluable. the other reason why i didn't use much force was because i wanted to keep as much as possible for when i needed to heal my party mid-fight. especially when fighting on Malak's ship when there are dozens of dark jedi and sith troopers around you. the other two jedi in my party would usually use a stasis or push for me anyway, you can set their default attack actions in one of the screens.
