Lamarr!!

I just finished the game today, and I don't know what to feel. The game was freakin' awesome, but it didn't have as many weapons, or as much of the ka-razy aliens from the first Half-Life, and the ending was a bit fruity. I didn't like being able to see creatures and enemies that I didn't get to beat the crap out of, such as the stalkers, icthyosaur, and those walky crab things inside the Citadel.

Sort of like when I saw Matrix: Reloaded. The game wasn't terrible like that movie, but like in Matrix:Reloaded, Half-Life 2 looked a lot better, and had more special effects, but didn't feel as complete as the first game.

I thought a bit about what could have made the game better, and I thought, "Hey! It needed some more Lamarr!"

I love that little bastard. So fiesty and unpredictable. The best part though is when you and Alyx return to Kleiner's lab, and Kleiner goes "Who's there!?" while holding a shotgun out of a crack in the door, and you just see little Lamarr peek his(actually a her, like it matters anyway...) head out from the bottom. I laughed so hard.

Hopefully the little turd will be back in HL3!

I hope so... one of my favourite characters
but from a plot perspective, valve was really able to use lamaar to build kleiner as a character

lamarr was such an awesome addition, it will really help with the characters and how they act in the world. I love all the things like playing catch with DOG, it makes the game more realistic, less just run and gun, less DOOM 3!

More then a year ago people were suggesting things, I suggested a pet headcrab for everyone that you could walk around in the park etc.

Then it came up to "well what if it trys to headcrab someone, I suggested a muzzle for the little guy, that or de-fang him or whatever they had"

It was given away the second time you are in Kleiner's lab--if you hang around the door long enough.

I laughed way too loud at such an awful joke, but they did wait just long enough for the payoff to be that good.

My friend and i were just discussing how funny and cute Lamarr is, he suggested a Lamarr expansion lol. Or movie with Lamarr as the lead running around knocking barrels onto peoples heads and sabotaging various machinery. :E

our teacher even showed us naked pictures/slides of this lady, would you believe it?! hahaha we were discussing GSM and suddenly our teacher pulls out this slide of her, naked in the water! hahaha i couldnt believe the fact that an actress invented such a thing...

anyway, back to the game, just finished that section, and i think valve made the hl2 world more believable by adding these little details in the game, thourougly immersing the player in the story. kudos to valve!

Hedy Lamarr was an actress and inventor. Kleiner named his headcrab after her. Apparently he's a fan, although it's probably also a joke (A Headcrab called Hedy, heheh.).
