basically, my mate phoned my up about a month ago and asked me if he could bring his PC up and LAN it with mine. I said "no". The reason foir this was that my mum was decorating her room, and all of my parent's stuff was piled into my room, and i hardly had room to move...

so after that my freind dan went offline. half an hour lkater he turned up on my doorstep and persuaded my mum that he could do it :)

i just got the photos in, so here they are. i made this thread to show just how rediculously pointless it is having a LAN between 2 pcs when you are decorating your house. good fun though :)

you're hot, wanna cyber? :p

you're a huge nerd btw, grats :p

/me waves his nerd flag

actually its more my mate who is the uber nerd.

a different freind of mine has a crappy PC, and he knows nothing about it really... and my "nerd" mate persuaded him to do come aswell. so about a week ago two freinds turned up at my doorstep with their PCs :)

staying in and doing a lan really makes you depressed... i had to play loads of tennis and football afterwards to shake the feeling off :) and ride my new bike, of course :p

Yeah, i thought you were me first... damn you :)

heh, funky room... your puter chair looks like its victorian though :)

my mates don't LAN, infact only a few of my mates know their bits from their bytes, and only one of them has LAN'd at my house before.

My house has a permanent LAN setup though, usually have 4+ player games of Age of Empires when my brother and his wife come up from Oxfordshire

That and ye olde counter-strike 1.5 of course :)

i'm shocked you didn't invite any of us :hmph:

have fun though mate :)

mourn with us ;(

on topic, suicide, what games you planning on playing? give some steam games a try, i've never heard of anyone trying them on a lan yet.

Dedalus, you do know the lan was a month ago right, and the second was a week ago? anyway, we played C+C generals over the net (my connection was split between the PCs) which was very fun, as being able to look over at each others screens (when youre on the same team) greatly helps.

Also we played Warcraft 3 (i used the FT disc, one person used the origonal disc and the other used a CD crack :) ), and some CS, and we tried to play BF1942 (the king of all LAN games) but it didnt work for some reason...

the mate who bought the router wants to do it laods though, as he spent £40 on it and he wants to use it loads.

and my mission is to confuse everyone into thinking im a mod :pnow i have the power of not just one mod, but 20!!!

Nice room.... a bit messy.. but mines worse so I wont say anything.

Shoulda played Age of Empires... that game rocks over a LAN... and you only need one CD for four people...

how can you play with the screen like that? wouldnt it glare from the window?

I have a Gamecube too!

I'm eagerly awaiting Mario Tennis release.

ever notice no good games are release on gamecube...........i got one, never use it..

Lots of good games, if you like other games then shooters/RPG's.

So if you like any game genre's except the 2 most popular.

what else is there really? sure racing...... but what ? puzzle games?

strategy.. but since when have they been any good on a console? FPS games are my favourite, and they also suck on consoles due to the fact there is a control pad instead of a mouse..

For my Gamecube i own MGS: twin snakes, MK:double dash (great with mates), Soul callibur 2 (multiplatform but link is the best), Skies of arcadia (great dreamcast port, brilliant RPG), Metroid prime (one of the best console FPS ever, equalled only by halo), Zelda: the wind waker (brilliant, free roaming game, worth it alone for the gamecube port of OOT, THE best N64 game), Super smash bros melle (most unique and fun beat 'em up EVER) and super mario sunshine (good fun for a while, but gets a little repeptitive).

and those are only the ones that i bought.

IMO gamecube has some of the best console games ever released... unless, of course, your some sort of "mature" PC devoted gamer who plays CS all day and screams that any game nintendo make are crap because they have cartoony graphics, ignoring the obvious fact that they have the most polished games out there with brilliant gameplay. Except Warioworld. That was just crap.

Anyway, im sure no-one on these forums would be that immature... but i guess im about to be proven wrong.

Suicide42... i hope you realised with that LAN setup... the other guy can See Your Screen :D so, if you lost just say he was haxing :)

its better to fake an injury... that way if you lose "It's my broken wrist!" otherwise "I'm a hero!!"
