s? is "yes" - there's a difference.

Also, it's "c?mo est?s":
como = like/I eat, c?mo = how
estas = these, est?s = you are

The accents may seem pointless to you, but they are part of the language and shouldn't be ignored. They also help with pronunciation.

I learnt German at school and want to go on a course to carry on learning it because I think I'm pretty good! I've been trying to teach it to my mum but spend most of the time banging me head against a wall because she's pretty hopeless! i also know a bit of Elvish as well, mostly Sindarin for all those Lord of the Rings freaks on here!!!!

I speak Swedish, Finnish and English fluently and some German. Currently taking a course in Italian but GODDAMN is it hard. We get to listen to a tape of italian conversations and it's just, at least for me, incomprehensible :/
They speak so damn fast, not to mention all the different dialects they have there. I thought i would be interesting but no, the hell with it.

Screw all these languages, the world needs to adapt one universal language, like maybe esperanto or something.
It's never going to happen though.

I would translate it, except the second half of the post makes absolutely no sense and is honestly worse than a babelfish translation.

"I did Spanish in school for a few years but it was probably one of the most boring subjects I've ever done"

then it starts making no sense and my best interpretation is:

"not to mention the time wasted on it."

And the last bit is impossible to understand, literally it says:

"the good english from work is the second most common language in the world"

I got a B in GCSE French, went to Geneva half a year later and couldn't speak a word of it. It's just English for me then. I don't know why I suck at languages. You'd have thought that being an English Literature / Language student, my brain might have been wired for languages. Apparently not.

I'm in my third year of german. I would probably be fluent by now if our school didn't totally write off the class and put us all together in the same room (1st through 4th year). The class is filled with drug addicts and losers. But, I have learned at least 1400 words. I'm just not very good with grammar.
