I'm having object distortions in hl2 because of overheating. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any cooling solutions. I have a Dell Latitude D600.

That's wierd. Update drivers? If you're sure certain it's down to overheating, try playing in a cooler room, or with a window open.

Or if you know its a heat issue, get a desktop fan, one of those 12" ones will do and stick it blasting air down onto the desk, and try adding some rubber feet to each corner of the underside of the laptop, that and the fan should solve it.

put it in the freezer for 30 minuites then play hl2 or css for 1 hour and repret

If we're posting silly replies, then how about putting the Laptop in a clear plastic bag, seal it, put your scuba gear on and play HL2 in the middle of the Arctic ocean, that should keep things cool.

well, i play hl2 in a mortuary, so i never have to worry about overheating...

Im pretty sure it is due to overheating because a) i posted a thread regarding the problem and thats what someone said, b)have already updated my drivers and it did nothing, c)after turning off my laptop, letting it cool and then playing cs, everything was fine, untill it began to heat up and things slowly went downhill. I have seen laptop surface fans such as the Vantec LapCool 2 ( http://www.hardwarecooling.com/product_info.php/cPath/33/products_id/515 ). I'm actually thinking of purchasing this model. If anyone could give me some input on any success/failures they've had with these products, it would be great.

I'm not so sure that it is over heating now. i actually put my laptop in the freezer, then loaded up cs, and got the same problems. I'm begining to think that it could be a defect in the card/chip or something of that sort. Before I start calling the painful dell tech support, has anyone been able to run HL2 on a Dell Latitude D600 successfully?
