I bought my laptop a while ago and it had one pixel that was stuck on red for a while but then it started working one day. Now, after a few months of it working fine it decides that it wants to play a game with me.

Every time I turn my laptop off and then turn it back on the pixel is stuck on red again but then after about 30-45 minutes it goes back to normal and starts working again.

I'm guessing that this pixel will probably just die completely soon enough but was wondering why it would stay stuck on red and then go back to working so many times and so often?

I know that this really isn't something that I can fix so I'm not looking for that, just a reason as to why you guys think that the monitor would be doing this.

Any LCD can, and most likely, will do this. You're lucky it's only one pixel. I haven't actually had one pixel go out of either of my 3 LCD screens (in various devices) but it's a common thing.

its a loose pixel. its rare that they happen, but whats happening is that the contacts have popped out so to say. there is a way to fix it, but there is about a 50/50 chance that it stays dead instead of fixing.

if you want to give it a shot take a small flat object thats a bit squishy(eraser end of a pencil works great) press it lightly against the screen at first and sorta rub it against the screen in a circular motion. and start to to apply more pressure until the screen does a weird color snap thing around the end of the pencil(sorta like pressing on a calculator screen.) it can work, it can do damage and it can do nothing. but try at your own risk.
