Lawsuit delay

i dont think there stupid there main priority is still realaseing hl2

I don't believe they're "stupid," but I do believe they are letting their greed distort their judgement.

I'm surprised no one has really mentioned this bit yet...

"its strategically delayed development of the Valve games to coincide with the commercial release of Steam"

How long do you guys think Steam has been stable/complete enough to handle distributing or supporting something like HL2?

To me, this statement makes it sound like the development of HL2 (I'm asuming HL2 comes under the "development of the Valve games") has taken sufficiently long to allow Steam to reach a mature enough state to suport/sell such a title. Whether the development of HL2 has been purposely slowed down to allow Steam to become fully capable is not clear, but it sounds possible.

I don't believe that article tells the whole story, but I wouldn't expect it to either. I'm sure the lawyers for both parties know a lot more than us mortals will ever know. I'm also sure that things will be resolved to everyone's best interests.

I'm thinking maybe Valve aimed too high with the grand scheme of Steam. It has its good points, but it also has its bad points. The point of HL2 being distributed over Steam can (to the end user) be a good thing, but its certainly getting Valve in a lot of trouble.

Could someone explain to me how Vivendi could end up owning H-L instead of Valve, the creators who made the game long before vivendi was in the picture at all?
