id like to learn German and Spanish.

people say German is easier than spanish to learn.
simular to englsh .. is that true?

BTW since when can we see warning levels again?
i thought they were hidden on purpose since last week ... :O

Don't know about Spanish. But I would think German to be easier. I don't think they're very similar. :( As far as I know, English is mostly Germanic based, while Spanish isn't. (I'm not sure here.)

spanish is more like french than is is to english.
while portugese is based from spanish,
and like you said , English is partly based from german.

Get on AIM and we'll talk about it. I'd like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind.

I don't mind ... but I don't use AIM :D how about ICQ or some IRC channel? Maybe PM's would do, too... :)

Last time I went to Germany was snowboarding in Feldberg in the Black Forest...

Random German word: Tintelfisch! = Octopus.
And a dudelsack is bagpipes! (Or is it dudelsach?)

Wow, I guess it's true. I had heard that you guys use mainly ICQ over there. Which would make sense, considering AIM was created by America Online, the spawn of Satan.

ICQ = 146451811

Tintenfisch :D
Dudelsack is correct that way ;)

Oh, there's a lot of AOL-people here too, so... :D

I've always thought German was an easy language to learn. I'm learning it now in fact and I'd have to say it really helps to read as many grammar books and short german stories as possible.

Indonesian for me is much easier than german. It's sort of like english, except for some grammar and the vocab (obviously).

Hm.... I wonder why so many people find that german is such an easy language to learn... especially 'easier than spanish'... I thought it was one of the most difficult ones.

btw. Top Secret, contacted you.

I've been finding it quite easy so far...most words are quite similiar to somthing in English and many have a distinctive sound which is easy to remember...plus all the tenses and things are more simple than French...
