Learning other languages for FBI

Okey, look here.
I have learned about 11 languages, including arabic, latin and russian.
A great system for learning is to first get a standard dictionary and build a small box with 5 pockets.
In each pocket put a card with the word on it, and the english representation on the other side. If you can the word, put it in the other box and put up a new card. When you have done every card in pocket one, move onto pocket two, if there is a word that you don't know, just move it back to pocket one.
I learned 50-60 new words each day with this.
wouldn't that just boost vocab and maybe lead to good diction? the what grammar about?

grammar is unnecessary :P spelling is too.

yuo're tehy'll syinag waht get

First off, I agree with Captain Stern. Dear lord, our country deserves better.

Could you explain this technique a bit more clearly? Ok, you learn all the words in pocket one,. and then move on to pocket two. Of course you dont know the first word in pocket two,..
So then you move that card to pocket one? And then what? Go over all of pocket one again? And once thats done, take another card from pocket two and move it to pocket one? And why five pockets?

It doesnt seem to make much sense, but there does seem to be some value in your method, so I would like to undersand it. I want to learn Spanish myself to help land a job as a Firefighter.

I would assume that with a vocabulary in place, most of the rules of grammar would come together by listening to people speak the language.

should i be an exchange student to somewhere?

as one who was never an exchange student myself, i can say (with no reservations) yes.

Hey guys, I want to join the FBI someday, and to do so I want to be able to speak at least 3 or 4 different languages... Right now I am junior in high school and in my second year of spanish.. I plan on taking German and French next year. Is there any ways I can start learning these languages online or now?

Seriously, if you want to be a special agent in the FBI, you need to go to college. They are heavily recruiting accounting majors (yes you read that right) as special agents in the FBI. I would try out for the FBI except I am color blind.

Learning languages is not a requirement. A good education with good GPA is.

Check out the FBI's website, they have a lot of good information.

Five pockets.
All the cards have one word on the language you're trying to learn and on the other side of the card is you're native language.

You pick a card up, and if you can translate it, it goes to the second pocket. Lets say that happened to all the cards in pocket one. Then you pick up the same card again, and if you could translate it again, it goes to pocket three. Otherwise back to one.
When pocket one is empty, you refill it with new words.
After five pockets you should remember the words.

Yeah...I need to learn a few languages myself (German, Dutch, Japanese, and hell maybe even Latin for kicks) for my career choice (Game design) and some tips would be a great help. I do know Spanish, but its not that much (my school's spanish course was not very competent).

As one who has done one step better than exchange (living in another country), I also heartily recommend it.

One of the best things about exchanges are that they force people to the realisation that there is no 'best' country, just as there is no 'best' way that works for everybody.

If you can come to that realisation, then you are on your way to becoming a better person.

Yeah books are great for learning and listening to a lot of movies in different languages help a lot too

good luck on learning 3-2 more languages....btw languages are very easy to learn when u are little
