It's finally here. Left 4 Dead 2 has been released (after an hour and a half delay) on Steam yesterday, and it's amazing.[br]

Both the PC and 360 versions have received very positive feedback from gaming websites and magazines. According to IGN "If you?re still interested in the gameplay, then you?re going to enjoy every aspect of the sequel since it?s improved in all areas" and it got it an outstanding rating (9.0/10)[br]

1UP say there's more than enough to call this a sequel and it "earned the 2 at the end of its name". (A).[br]

Game Informer also have a positive review..

The newest chapter in the undead uprising now oozes with even more of the proven developer?s trademark personality and polish. If you are among those who think the sequel is coming too soon, prepare to eat your words like so many brains. Left 4 Dead 2 is everything a sequel should be: perfected, expanded, and an absolute riot - 9.5/10

Enough reading, go play the game.

Nice to see some more footage of the game; I might actually start liking it, despite the demo. ;)

Also, did I see the first level of The Parish revisited when it was flooded?

The story is more connected through the campaigns, Parish being the last one but the first one I played (since I HAD to complete it after playing the demo levels so many times over).

I played the game a great deal yesterday, and enjoyed it a lot. Then I went back and played a campaign in L4D1 with a friend you doesn't have the sequel yet. I think everything just feels better in L4D2. For me the game has always been about thinking on your feet in unpredictable circumstances, and with all the new items and such you have more options in how to survive.

For example I really didn't understand the uses of Boomer-Bile or Adrenaline till it came to playing the finale levels. In the first game, if you are playing on high difficulty and a friend falls down in the crowd, it was often impossible to save him without being knocked down yourself, but the Bile offers a distraction far longer than the pipebomb, and the adrenaline halves the time it takes to revive somebody, as well as making you almost immune to common infected.

I don't think the game is easier though, some of the gauntlet events are really nasty even on Advanced, the 3rd floor alarm on Dead Center, or the Stadium Gate on Dark Carnival for instance. The gauntlet events are so much more enjoyable than simply finding a cheap exploit or bathroom and sitting in it for 5 minutes.

Awesome game! Love the campaigns and it seems so much more detail has been added to it then l4d1

Also, honorary mention goes to the coaster.

I just found out that the location of the rescue vehicle in Dark Carnival is randomized. Also an excellent addition. In my opinion, they should've done that for the other "old" finales as well.

Yeah I found that out the hard way, last survivor on 30 hp made it to where I thought the chooper would come only to see it land on the other side of the stadium. Chat was going nuts, good times.
