Yeah and we posted that back on the 18th September last year! Nice blog post but with a lot of information and development talk on things we've already seen. Understandably people are looking towards bug fixes and new content now. Valve are always fairly coy about these things, I see this as a little 'hang on a second' update, as they put together the update which was scheduled for New Year.Nothing on the DLC? Also this is basically from the video on how Valve made L4D:

It all goes to show why so many smaller projects fail. It's also why the mod scene is much smaller than that of HL1, with so much more to think about.
Considering how huge the mod scene is with HL2 and its related games, i wouldn't call it much smaller. Take all the other games, Crysis, Cod, FEAR, Fallout 3, and how big is there mod community? Hl2 is actually super close to the amount of customization of HL1, just look on FPSbanana...
Yes, sure. But after 4 and a bit years, there is a significant decrease in the amount of released mods and the ones that are played regularly through quality over the HL1 era.
The only mod I can think of that will really be remembered so far is Garry's Mod for obvious reasons.
Or am I being terribly short-sighted?
