Left 4 Dead DLC / New Game Mode and SDK Details

Yes they should. You aren't paying for it. You're buyng for one item and getting another item free. How is that not free? Have they changed the price of the original item?

Yes you are paying for it your not getting anything free on that basis the price of whatever your supposed to be geting free is covered in what you are paying for.
Understand yet?

No, you're paying for something else.

No, you're paying for something else.

Say for instance you get a mobile phone contract for 30pound a month with a "free" phone the phone isnt bleeding free the price of the contract is paying for it SO IT IS NOT DAMN FREE.

That is different. The phone is a standard part of those contracts, it isn't additional/extra.
And it isn't the case here.

In gaming terms that's like updates to a subscription based game (MMOs) rather than free DLC for a game you buy once.

Yes but still it is advertised as "free" just as you said that they wouldnt be able to do that.
Case closed.

What do you mean, "you people"?

Anyway your opinion is not that endorsed by law. Companies are allowed to advertise things as "Buy 1 get 1 free", "X free with purchase of Y" etc. yet by your 'logic' none of those things can ever be advertised as being free.
Once you're done ranting at Valve I guess you're gonna have a lot of class action suits on your hands.

There.

You fail at reading comprehension. Nowhere there did I say that companies cannot do anything, only that they do/can unless we use Bizarro/Chipmunk logic.

What a fruitless argument. Who cares, we've all been exposed to that conditional bullshit and the fact that you're not paying for it like the FO3 DLC is 'free' enough for me.

I make sure not to when casting aspersions on the intelligence of others, no.

This thread makes me sad. The fact that you're even arguing this is retarded. Your grammar and spelling isn't helping much either.

Free content isn't free,
no there's a hefty ****ing fee.

Thats right, if you two don't shut your traps I'll turn this thread right back around :frown:.

It's sounds like they're adding so little that this might be free on the 360.

I'm afraid Microsoft doesn't look at it that way. I don't know much about the console stuff, though. Have they ever released game updates that actually added new content to a game for free? I thought they always charged for map packs and new game modes and such.

I've got a suspicion that after the disconnect between what Valve wanted to do and what MS let them do for TF2 they tried to get some other kind of deal going for L4D. So it wouldn't surprise me if the DLC was free for the 360 as well.

NO U!

It seems pretty lightweight. Let's hope that most of Valve are working on Ep3 instead.

I dont see why we are arguing whether it will be free or not seeing how ITS GONNA BE THE SAME DAMNED THING AS TF2.... Honestly, i would understand this argument if this was around the time of the first TF2 DLC, but people, just think tf2 and its gonna be exactly the same for L4d, they will release lots of content updates which will always be free for PC users, but 360 users will have to pay on behalf of Microsoft, not Valve BTW.

I'm not sure, but this is only giving two maps that we already have on versus and a new game mode which, by the sound of it, sounds rather small, but fun. I'd be ok with buying a larger dlc for ten bucks, but if this is going to cost me I'm going to feel bad when I buy it.
