Here it is. About to read it now... 3 pages long.
In Left 4 Dead, taking too much damage doesn't result in an immediate death. Instead you fall to the ground and have a "bleed-out" timer, at the end of which you die. Teammates will need to be aware of who goes down, as a fallen comrade can still take damage once they hit the floor. Finding the fallen is easy enough, since the game lets teammates see each other at any time. As Survivors, you'll see greenish outlines of all your buddies even if they're behind several walls or structures, which keeps you from getting too lost. Once you've approached a friend and the revive sequence is initiated, it'll be a few seconds before they're back on their feet, during which time you're vulnerable to attack. Each player can carry one health pack, which can usually be grabbed at the start of a map. These can either be used to patch yourself or your teammates up. Without health packs, you'll have to rely on bottles of pills found in certain spots. Though these do replenish health, it's only temporary, and will slowly degenerate back your health's starting level after a little while. If you get killed three times in one map, you'll also notice the health boost you receive upon revive is temporary, and once that runs out you turn into a one-hit kill target.
