Left For Dead 2 - Good or Bad?

Scavenge for a more decent VS experience (compared to random pubs)

I just played my first game of L4D2 and I was genuinely (and very positively) surprised. Played Dead Center up until the finale and it really seemed like they had put a lot of effort into it. If the other campaigns are even half as good as this one then I'm in for a real treat. Realism mode added good bit of difficulty into it, too, which was a welcome addition, and if I wasn't imagining things, the AI special infected seemed to work together much better than in the first one.

Can't wait to try out some versus and scavenge.

Game is awesome.

Even more awesome on expert.

And pure 100% home-grown AWESOMESAUCE on expert + realism + 3 friends with mics. Still haven't tried out versus or scavenge, I wish there was 48 hours in a day.

I really like the Dark Carnival campaign, with the creepy & dead clowns, followed by Swamp Fever. However, my favorite campaign by far is Hard Rain. I love the constant rain storms & the random gale force winds, which makes it really easy to get lost &/or separated from your team mates. The flooding is great too. To me, it seemed to be the hardest, or rather it had the most Witches it seemed.

Played as an Infected last night. Awesome, awesome fun, only that I suck hardcore as an infected zombie. Still a total blast. I have not played every mission per campaign in order, though I would hazard a guess that I have played about 95% of them. I also met a pretty cool player last night by the name of "!DW!|/\/\/-\|<||_/-\7/-\|2" ( Yes that's his name ) that helped show me the ropes. I only mention him directly because he was funny as hell over the mic, as he never once shut up, though it was in no way annoying. ( He had my daughter cracking up just listening to him ) & he had endless patience with my newbie-ness in-game. Never once losing his cool & I did some pretty dumb shit over & over that would have pissed off pretty much every other player, resulting in me getting left to the wolves. Not often you find cool players like that. No offense to anyone here, only that I don't think I have ever gamed with any of you except for Top Secret. If you spam him on Steam, tell him MRG sent you & be sure to ask him how his Gnome is doing. ( An achievement I helped him with in Dark Carnival, of which he had to carry the entire map )

A very fun game. Gonna be quite awhile before I get bored of it. Of that I am quite sure.

versus is fun, but a bit too many people take that too seriously and rage quit after the first round.

i havent had a single game yet where people stayed for the full campaign.

This is true, this game is FULL of rage-quitters.

OMG.. Tell me about it...

I was just playing Infected & the guys I was playing with had some of the poorest attitudes I have seen in awhile. Constant yelling & cussing over the mic because they didn't get to play as the infected they wanted to & then bitching when they were that class. A couple younger player were on as well, judging from their high pitched voices & they were more reserved & mature.... Go figure.

I just wish I could kick the childish & immature players from the server, as they always ruin it for everyone else. Don't they realize the way they are acting? Guess not.

Still great fun.

As I am now home I've treated myself to L4D2 and have spent the last few hours going through the campaigns. I was originally going to go through them in ''order'', so I did Dead Center which I found short but sweet, but then I just HAD to see these awesome weather effects in Hard Rain so I went and played that. Too awesome.

Just got done playing The Parish which is amazing, though we never did finish the final chapter as we kept failing and I've other things to be getting on with now. Man, that shit is hard. It wouldn't be so bad if zombies didn't stop constantly coming at you at the last stretch. I swear they are so much tougher now, but then I had a little lag so it's half bad accuracy and half upgraded zombies... maybe?

Also, the Spitter can really turn a game around, eh? We were doing really well then bam, all of us got spitter'd and that was it.

Liking it! I do, however, feel a little overwhelmed with items. It's like around every corner there's a new cache of things to pick up and I haven't quite gotten my head around it all yet, but I guess that all comes with time. Looking forward to more.
