so hl2 is comin out on steam first then out in the stores later on?

i can no longer play hl1 mods online usin WON and HAVE to subscribe to steam just to play what used to be free on online?

only steam will supply patchs and mods and not magazine cover discs and other hl websites , so no matter what i have to use steam for everything hl related?

this all seems abit far fetched what vavle is doing , why coult they jsut keep everything nice and simpl ;( ;(

first of all you can also buy it in stores the 30th

an no you dont have to suscribe to anything, just have steam running.

yes the patches will be through through steam also, and they will be 100% free

you are in no way obligated to use steam.. gamespy works just as well

Steam is just a backend system(a very good one in my opinion )

Or rather, you don't have to use Steam's server list and utilities, but Steam will be required to play the game, Gamespy Arcade or not.
