Just saw this movie at the theatre, and I really don't know what to think about it. It's a vampire movie, but it's also a feel good coming of age movie about love... with a lot of dead people. It's not funny horror, but it's not scary horror really. disturbing, yes. I mean the movie takes itself pretty seriously and has some close your eyes kind of scenes. I guess it makes you think a bit about morality.

There's lots of depth to it, little things in the plot that are left to the audience. It is definitely original and overall I liked it. Good use of CGI that blends in without trying to steal the scene.

For those of you that are a bit impatient, the first part might seem a bit slow and dark and confined, but the movie really pulls you in after that and it is never obvious what will come next.

I recommend it, but check your expectations at the door. It's more like a smarter vampire movie that's not a vampire movie at all.

Oh yeah, and it's in Swedish with subtitles.

97% at rotten tomatoes out of nearly 100 reviews. Jesus, I need to see this! I'm a review aggregate whore!

I watched this and I really enjoyed the movie. It's not like a scary movie like Dan said. It's more of a romance horror. And it's not your typical vampire movie. Maybe that's one reason why I like it so much as all other vampire movies seem to really suck and not do what they're intended to do, whereas this one is doing something I never thought of before in a way.

This is my first Swedish movie... and it may be one of my favorite movies. I don't know really, there's something very charming about it that draws me. I really like the child actress in the film. She really made the movie what it is.

Sounds like something I'd like, will have to check it out sooner or later.

It's a great movie. Naturally, there's an American remake in the works.

There was lots of talk about it when it was released, but I never saw it myself.

****ing christ. Good movies are being raped by remakes so early now it should be considered statutory.

I will refuse to watch an American remake. No other actress can capture that role.

I guess that's what you get when you watch a movie and you're biased towards the actors.

I loved the movie, especially the ending. It's so refreshing to actually see an intelligent horror/fantasy movie.

I could have done without the cat scene though. It didn't feel right and just made me cringe.

To swedes... Isn't the actress the same girl in that anti bully comercial that runs on tv?
Hard to tell becouse I almost never watch tv and I haven't seen this flick yet.

OH MU GOSH, IS THAT PRETTY GIRL GET BULLIED CAZ SHE IS SO MISUNDERSTOOD AND BEAUTIFUL THAT NO ONE EVEN KNOWS?

Agreed. The one part I thought was out of place.

"borrowing" now...

<bullying ad>

:(
Don't you love how they always pick people for these ads who'd never be bullied or even ostracized that badly in real life? I mean, where are the cargo pants and lip rings? She looks completely normal.

I have wanted to see this for months now and have not gotten around to "borrowing" it from anywhere yet. Apparently it is available somewhere though. Will have to check out...and maybe get the Blu-ray when it drops?? If it drops?? Nice.
