Just saw this movie at the theatre, and I really don't know what to think about it. It's a vampire movie, but it's also a feel good coming of age movie about love... with a lot of dead people. It's not funny horror, but it's not scary horror really. disturbing, yes. I mean the movie takes itself pretty seriously and has some close your eyes kind of scenes. I guess it makes you think a bit about morality.
There's lots of depth to it, little things in the plot that are left to the audience. It is definitely original and overall I liked it. Good use of CGI that blends in without trying to steal the scene.
For those of you that are a bit impatient, the first part might seem a bit slow and dark and confined, but the movie really pulls you in after that and it is never obvious what will come next.
I recommend it, but check your expectations at the door. It's more like a smarter vampire movie that's not a vampire movie at all.
Oh yeah, and it's in Swedish with subtitles.
