Sorry to make a thread about this. I'm not sure how needed it is. But I just think eveyone needs to agknoledge(wtf?SP) the awesome job Icarus is doing keeping the General HL2 forum clean.

He's working his ass off to keep us from suffering the wrath of the tiny little nit pickers and the pointless people (agian sorry if some see this thread as a bit pointless :O )

But dude....you Mods rock.

And Icarus, I really hadn't noticed you around here much. Even though you've been here since Oct of last year. Anyway, its mods like you that make me happy to spend my non work/school hours sitting here reading the good input from everyone else after its been sifted through by you guys. thank you thank you thank you.

maybe if the threads were erased, the creaters banned, and their families executed i could respect him.

Yep he's doing a fantastic job. It's the first time I've woken up in ages where all the reported posts have been dealt with :)

Also props to all the mods who are far more at risk of Spoiler-viewage should the forums get a spoiler-spamming (gods forbid).
 
I'd make it a point to lock every thread in hl2 discussion, theres nothing to discuss right now!
 
Holy shiznit, just opened up the HL2 discussion and saw 7 moved posts on the first page only. Probably many more deleted.

Someone stop him before he overloads the Lock/Move forum buttons :p

Heh...Its things like this that make it all seem worthwhile. Sure, i've got my flashy cars, big house and piles of gold from this place but thats not what makes me come back. Its people doing things like this, showing some gratitude towards the mods :p
 
Yes, Icarus does a very good job with taking care of threads in the half-life 2 discussion forum. Rock on, mate. Rock on. :D

T'was a joke in case anyone might think otherwise. I'm also curious on how one becomes a mod. So start talking Icarus. How did you become a mod?
 
He showed not sucking, became friends with some of the mods, they felt he was a good choice. don't think theres an official process or anything.
 
Oi... I was just wondering, because it was like Icarus appeared one day, suddenly becoming very active. I might just have missed his posts as a regular though.

he was here since october, you just noticed him now cause he became a mod like a day or two ago :p
 
Actually I like most of the moderators here. I say most, because I flat out haven't dealt with some of them. It's hard to get a group of moderators that will do their job, and still post and converse with the lunatics in the forums. That's one of the things I like most about this place.
