with all the flaming and circular logic going on at the micheal moore threads i got sick of it all and just wanted to discuss a film everyone should be able to enjoy.......SPIDER-MAN2

alright everything spider-man2 in this thread

-how mary jane's relationship will turn out at the end of the movie
-what harry osbourne's reaction will be after he finds out who spider-man is
-what "other" purposes the tentacles in doc oc's body can be used for...
-i don't mind if you guys discuss how dorky i am for making a thread like this as long as you provide valid and arguable points

i don't know about you guys but i thought the first one was just a lot of fun to watch, didn't offend anyone, you could take your mom to see it, a great movie. that's why i want to discuss the second one which for me will just be an awsome time. keep it peaceful and i don't want any theories on whether peter parker is a more liberal or conservative type of guy, i just want some peacefull speculation

Don't the Spiderman movies follow the comic books (even if loosely)? Or do they take their own course?

I'm not a huge Spiderman fan, but I'll definitely see Spiderman 2. I just haven't really read the comics, so I don't know

I really really hope Peter and Mary Jane get together at the end of this one - I felt so sad for them after the end of the first one. It just seems that Peter can't keep trying to protect his loved ones forever from those who would wish to harm them without sacrificing his own humanity/sanity in the process.

By the way, the first Spiderman move was perhaps the best comic-book hero movie I've ever seen (surpassing Superman 1 and 2 and the first 2 Batman movies) for the simple reason that I actually "cared" about the characters in it. They weren't just some cardboard cutouts but seemed like living, breathing people who would live next door to me. I thought the movie's HUMANITY was its best part!

they're as accurate as can be expected, like if you watched the first movie then you should probably know that in the comics peter doesn't have natural webbing powers, apparently he makes his own and puts it into a machine that straps onto his arm that shoots out a makeshift type web, but that's the only real major gripe i know for most spider-man fans to have against the movie. so since that' not really at all a big deal they're relatively accurate to their source material

yea this is definately going to label me as an uber dork but.....some of the scenes with uncle been i got kind of....emotional...............

You know what? I don't think Harry Osborne is going to find out that Peter is Spiderman - I think that at the critical moment SOMETHING is going to happen that will prevent him from doing so!

Yeah, this I know :) Namely because of the Master System game "Spiderman." Not sure how many people have played this game, but it's an action side scroller, where you also want to take pictures of enemies (ie. Crocodile, Dr. Octopus, etc) and give them to Mr. Jameson and make money to buy more web cartridges. It's alot of fun, and such an old game.

i kind of hope he does, it would make the story so much more interesting and complex, will harry give in to his darker desires and tell octopus to kill him even though he's his best friend, or will spider-man's revealed identity change harry into a new man???

For Spiderman 3 (hopefully there will be one), I want Venom to be the bad guy!

yea as stated above on how i'm such an uber dork for spider-man, i've played that game i didn't get very far though i got to the lizard, and on spider-man videogames i've played the master systems spiderman, the beat em up that has venom on it for the genises system, the psx's spider-man, spider-man the movie game, out those i think the psx versinon is the best

yes there will be a spider-man3.....i just checked out ign's interview with kirsten dunst and she talks about it.....god i'm an old school dork

dang it, a mod's gonna get me sooner or later for double posting twice in one thread :(

I have to admit that this summer's movies have been a bloody disappointment so far - the only one I've seen that I really enjoyed was Shrek 2 :)

Troy was nearly 3 hours of Brad Pitt showing off his body.

Chronicles of Riddick is an example of great promise gone badly

Save our summer Spidey!

The game isn't overly hard, Kingpin is the boss of the game.. oh man, that game is so classic, I need to play it again :)

Anyhow, Spiderman 2 should surely be good. Looks better than Spiderman.. my thoughts on Spiderman were "wow, that was cool." at first.. after seeing it again, then once again on DVD, I realized it was a bit poor in some respects (Green Goblin's costume really really REALLY annoyed me, it looked incredibly stupid).

It has a Rotten Tomatoes Meter Rating of 100% so far (granted there are only 12 reviews)

the dialogue was pretty spotty in a quit a lot of places, the cg could have been much better, and the green goblin looked like a freaking power ranger, but according to ebert and roeper they fixed all those problems

Good, good. I'd hate to see Harry's Goblin look like a power ranger

the whole costume just looked alot more expensive than it needed to be, and the little talking holes in the mouth guard just looked so......well anywho i'm gonna turn in for the night, be sure to check out that audio review and watch spider-man2 when it hits theaters this wednesday.....god i feel like a sony advertising commercial

I think I just might start reading the comics now - I feel so much Spiderman goodwill. Normally I'm not a superhero comics fan, but somehow I can relate to Spiderman a lot more than Superman or Batman or the X-Men.

Start here

The first time that you see Spider man, you just go, Whoa! cool movie.
But when you whatch it the second time is so boring.

You could say that about a lot of movies though.

My most recent example is "Attack of the Clones" which REALLY doesn't hold up well to repeated viewings.

yeah, i know what you mean.. it's a fun movie, but i don't understand how it was such a mega-hit at the boxoffice. the trailer for the second one is pretty exciting though.
