Letter Icons? (Non Spoiler)

Well I played throughout the hole game with this huge white letter 'q' in the middle of my crosshair. I wasn't sure what it was, but I just used the center of the q to aim better

But really though, what is this? I looked in the options to see if there was an option or something for this, but couldn't find one. When you scroll through your available weapons and it opens up your inventory at the top, the guns are represented by letters, not actual gun icons. Anyone know how to fix this (although I already beat the game )

It seems like you're missing the font file which has the pictures of guns in it. I could be wrong though.

Wow -- that is certainly strange....Perhaps you have a foreign version of the game? Edit it so the font is a different one?

Everything is in English, so it cant be that. I'm thinking that I need the font file or something. If someone can host it and tell me what directory to export it to, please do so. Thanks again

Well, I found the HalflLife2 font. It has all of the icons and everything that the guns are, so I dont know what the deal is.

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Its the font. He has the regular HL font installed. You have to download the HL2 font.

Can anyone host the HL2 Font and link me? I didn't 'cheat', I have already beat the game with absolutly no cheats and I just went into the game on that chapter and used impulse 101 so you could see the crosshair and the weapon list at the top.

Sorry you don't have to download anything. Delete the HalfLife2 font. Control Panel > Fonts.
