(Nature series)

I watched episode 8: Creatures of the Deep, and I have to say, this is absolutely incredible. The high definition underwater photography is leagues (oh look, a pun) above what we have seen before. Not only extremely high quality video, but outstanding camera work and interesting commentary. There is one part where they used time lapse photography over a period of a few years!

I hope the other episodes are this amazing. I'm going to try to get the series on disc or something.

So who's watching this?

Comparison to Planet Earth? I haven't really paid attention to it because I figured it was just Planet Earth 2, but if it's as good as you say I'm completely willing to check it out.

... once I finish watching all of Star Trek: TNG.

Yeah, it's in the same vein as Planet Earth, though this one focuses entirely on life instead of Earth itself.

Well, I've only seen episode 8, (underwater) but this is much more stunning than Planet Earth in my opinion. More up close and personal. Simply must see.

They seem to capture the behavior of the creatures really well. They may have got lucky to witness some of the interactions and situations they captured, but I think it was just - you know, all out dedication. Some of the creatures and behaviors have never been witnessed before.

See it in HD if you are able.

Yeah I've been checking them out on the BBCi player (ul to you in the USA btw :p). They're epic. Loved pretty much all of them, though in terms of camera mastery I'd have to say fish and plants were my favourite episodes.
