Well halflife2.net - how do you live? Where do you get your money from? And where does that money go? How do you spend your days?

I live in a small 4 bedroom terrace house, with one other housemate, and two more joining us in a couple of weeks. It's not huge, but it's good enough!

I get my money from banks/the government in the form of student loans/overdrafts. Never again in my life will I ever get a better loan interest rate (0%) so I intend to use it - plus the terms of repayment are well within my post-uni means. I do however intend to get a job very soon.

My money goes on 3 things - rent+bills, clothes, and alcohol. And occasionally a little bit of food!

I spend my days walking across this city to either visit friends or get home from wherever I slept last night, roaming round town chatting with mates, or annoying my neighbours with music.. my nights ... I'm either out and off clubbing, or watching tv/DVDs with friends.

It's a nice life..

Sounds nice but it's quite the opposite of mine. I still live at home with my parents. I'm in high school and I got a job (morning paper :(). My job gives me a pretty good income for my age (€275 per 4 weeks, I'm 17). Most of that is spent towards upgrading my pc. Mostly because that costs alot :P. Another thing which costs me alot of money is my love for quality audio. I always try to get the best audio I can get. I even build speakers myself (currently building a subwoofer.. €350 spent so far) and I plan to buy a pair of DIY speakers (€800) sometime next year (april I think). ATM I'm also saving for a new pc. If everything goes well I should have enough by the end of this year.

I spend my days behind my pc. Always.. my parents aren't really happy with it, but I still am a perfectly functional person when I'm not behind my pc, so they don't worry too much.

I don't really spend time with friends, mostly because I don't feel the need to and secondly because my hobbies keep me busy/entertained 24/7. Perhaps thirdly because I go to bed at 9pm (atleast I try to).

I don't drink, don't do drugs, don't smoke and don't do girls.

I live at my parents house at the moment, about 30 minutes busride out of the town of uppsala. this is subject to change as i'm being kicked out to live in town while my parents move to the south of sweden. i'm going to find an apartment, but it's kind of hard finding somewhere where i'll be able to make music without neighbours getting upset (reason why i cant move into a simple student home or shit like that)

i get my money from student benificiary(is that what its called?) from the government, roughly 124 USD, and i get an additional 165 USD from the government because my dad hasn't been around

My money is spent on clothes, renting DVD's, going to the cinema, alcohol and saving cash for synths. occasionally food, in the form of readymade stuff you heat in the microwave oven :)

my days are either spent with friends in town or female interests in stockholm, or at home surfing the web or making music, being lazy.
this summer ive spent most time swimming, chatting and learning the guitar

i rarely go clubbing because it's kinda hard getting in touch with friends since i live so far away, so its kinda good moving out on my own. will definitely host weed parties to celebrate :)

i paid $1,381 for my analogue studio monitors hooked up to a $690 analogue mixer :) it's hard getting good digital audio mate, but building stuff yourself is hardcore, cheers! what kind of soundcard do you have?

I'm pretty much along the same lines as Brick. My friends just go to the local mall and **** around...I went with them once and it was boring =/

I do put myself out when it comes to something fun like Go-karting or an activity that is actually fun and different.

I play the guitar to pass the time aswell, maybe not so much later but I'm sure I'll get into it again.

I'm only 15 and I want to be able to get a driving license and a car and just drive around the country because I like going to nice scenic places and to see what the rest of the country is like.

Maybe I've been watching too much Top Gear lately heh.

Ah, I am in my final years of high school so therefore am still living at home. My income is extremely minimal as I have no job, and certainly no time for one either. Anything 'major' that I want to get is generally worked for and aquired through my marks in school. (and then paid for by parents)

I am on a music scholarship at Perth's main music school (Perth Modern), and thus most of the time that I have to 'work' is taken up by ensembles such as orchestra and band. I generally spend about 2 hours a day practicing and I own a YTR-8335 (Yamaha Xeno) Bb Trumpet, a Bach 'Chicago' C trumpet, a Jupiter flugel horn and a 16C4-GP mouthpiece.

My intrests include GAMES, modifying my computer, trumpet and general music, SCUBA diving, Ellie Robson and Skiing.

When I leave school I intend to do a music performance scholarship at UWA then transfer over to the eastern states conservatorium to complete the degree.

What I wish for most at the moment is... money... lol I'm broke. :(

I live at home, but alone.
Its my parents house, but since they're the travelling types, they like staying overseas (with relatives/renting etc..)

I basically get the house, but I need to pay for everything else.

I work a fairly boring job basically watching servers move data, and making sure backup tapes dont get anything done to them that they shouldn't. I do some other tech stuff.. It's not very stimulating, although I have one subordinate.. yay.

I kinda miss private security, but at least the hours are during the day in my current job.

I'm pretty quiet, don't do too much with my friends these days. I do well by myself, and I enjoy the freedom... even though its a little lonely *emo time*

Live at home with mum and sister, nice house in a decent part of Cardiff, though chavs are starting to invade

Work at the local supermarket, Sainsbury's on the Produce (Fruit and Veg..hmm should have Fruit Pimp as my user title really :P ) earn about £300 basic a month, though doing the overtime durin this summer to get more moolah :D

Will be going to Uni in September to study Modern History and Politics and will live at home purely for financial reasons

Spend my time on the PC, working or down some pub in the city centre with my mates

A good life really

I live at home with my brother...

Jobless currently...

Don't get out much since I have very few friends around this area...

I spend most of my time since i'm currently unemployed at home using the computer... sinking deeper and deeper into the drudgery of my miserable existence.

On the plus side, I had yet another predictable dream that comes nearly every day which unreasonably makes me want to commit suicide. ****ing depressive genes.

I'm 16, live with my parents, am going to a 6th form next year to do maths, further maths, physics and chemistry, if I get the grades I'm expecting next week of course.

I get £108 a month of my mum, to spend on bus, toiletries and other crap I want, my mum gives me extra for clothes.

I listen to music and play PC allot, however I'm pretty sociable as well and often go out with friends wearing howdies and scaring old ladies :p

I live at home with my parents and sister, we're typical middle class suburban family. I work at a supermarket pushing carts (i'm 16) for crap pay (80 or 90 bucks a week or less usually), not gonna be here much longer because I want to do something with my life. I save all my money in the bank until I accumulate a lot. Then I buy something big. My last big purchase was a new bass, and amp combo, next up is a new guitar, Schecter C1 Plus and a new guitar amp. Obviously I love music, both listening to (Nine Inch Nails mostly, one of my favorite artists) and making music. And I go on the PC a lot (internet) and play games, such as half life 2.

I'm going into my last year of public high school (12th grade) then Im going to a community college, then Im planning to transfer to a college. I'm thinking of making a career out of music. Because all my life ever since I was a little kid music has played a large role in my life. I was in the school band for like 10 years. And I play a lot of different instruments including: guitar, bass, piano/keyboards, and drums (have 10 years experience on drums from school band). I also recently got my own car (parents payed half). And I'm thinking about starting or joining a band soon. So I don't really have much more to say but that's my lifestyle.

I must say, I don't get in trouble with my neighbours for playing guitar... we'll see how they react when the drummer moves in in two weeks :D :D

Oh yeah, spend money on Broadband, give mum money towards digital TV, booze, music, DVD's and the occasional game

Evo, I'd definately recommend moving into uni halls.

Everyone of my mates who's local and stayed home regretted it a whole lot..

I forgot to mention that I'm really happy with myself and the way I live my life.

I live with my parents in a nice house in a nice area. I have a fairly large room, and most of that is taken up by shelves of books/DVD's, my instruments, a couch, a bed and my computer. I spend most my time here, and I only usually go downstairs for snacks, drinks and then tea around 6. I do use the living room for late night TV as it's a pretty big TV and theres a comfy sofa. I spend pretty much all my time sitting here browsing the internet, listening/making music, drawing, writing and reading. Other than that, I spin my chair around and I'm facing my TV to play Xbox.

I'm currently 16, and I get my GCSE results back next week so I'll know then whether I'll be going into Sixth Form or not. If I go to Sixth Form, I'll be doing art, music technology, history and product design. If I don't get into Sixth Form then I'll be out hunting for a job, but then at 18 I'm going to the Army.

The money I get is usually £12 a week for whatever use and I'm happy with that money, but over the last few weeks I haven't been using it as I haven't been going to town. Besides, all the money I can get is going towards a bike (not a motorbike or a scooter, just a normal bike) because I need the excercise and I enjoy biking. I'd normally use the money to buy a new CD/DVD and some food in town, as theres where me and my two close freinds would go every Saturday. Every month or so I get a 'clothing allowance' which is usually about £30 to spend on clothes. I'm not one for fashion, so I usually get a pair of new 3-quater lenght shorts (trust me, thats all I wear) and I may order a new shirt.

eh.

Well, I live in a three bedroom house (two stories) with my parents and four siblings. I spend most of my day on the computer or playing bass. I don't have a job, and I don't have a driver's license. I have eighty five dollars, which I have been saving for a few months now, and is the second largest amount of money I've ever had. I'm not necessarily poor, it's just that my parents I guess don't feel need to give me any money, and I don't really feel they need to either, because if I need somehting they'd probably get it for me.

I'm in a band, with three other guys. We've never been in the same room at the same time. I do all the writing, except for the lyrics of a couple songs. We haven't recorded or even finalised anything yet. We practice in my friend's dad's recording studio that he built.

I plan on buying my friend's dad's car, or maybe my neighbor's hippie van if they're selling.

I like school. I usually do most of my homework and classwork... unless it's math, but I don't ever have to take another math class ever again \o/. I'm lucky, because... well, I don't mean to sound egotistical or whatever, but I'm fairly attractive and popular. All my friends are stoners, which is fun. The most I've ever done was a couple puffs of a cigarette and a gulp of rum (yum).

I turn 16 in a couple weeks, but it doen'st seem that important. Everybody says it is. But it isn't.

Oh, and I don't watch TV. Or the news. Sometimes, an article my sneak in and catch my interest, but other than that, not at all. People like CptStern and No Limit have scared me away from politics.

Sweet 16 is only applicable for girls.

I'm 17 and living with my mum in an awesome detatched 6 bedroom house. Recently I've been sleeping in the computer room because we have so many guests staying (like 4 of my nieces, my uncle and his daughter), but it's all good.
Most of my time is spent on the computer gaming, getting better at CSS or just messing about on pubs trying to get accused. The rest is spent listening to music and browsing websites or writing poetry / stories because I'm incredibly awesome at it.

No job to speak of because the town I live in is so small (1 mile across both ways). We don't have a supermarket or anything, just a small shop which sells random food and sweets. Infact they've taken up the magazine selling since the paper shop went out of business due to lack of income (This place really is a business black hole).
I do however get EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance) from our government for staying on at school instead of quitting and taking up a random job. It's £60 a fortnight, and every holiday I get a £100 bonus \o/.
Uuh I'm trying to increase my income by compiling an anthology of Poetry which I can sell at my dad's cafe (with his wife :\), and my mum heads a writers group so has a lot of contacts. That might up my money, which I'll be spending on either the Wii that I'm indefinately getting, or my computer which I want to upgrade so I can be more ownage :E.

Friends are all online anyway so I needn't go out. Nowt to do anyway here. No 'malls' to speak of.

-but I'm fairly attractive and popular.

Your the guy with dirty fingernails who never washes his hair right?

:p

I live a quiet, (overly) comfortable life, get my money from the government and spend it mostly on crap I use to waste the days away at home. But I'm not gonna get depressed about it, cause I'm making progress...

I'm in college in the same town I grew up in. I live at my parents house, but they might be selling soon so I'm gonna have to find a place. Over the summer, I worked for my dad in an underground mine, getting paid $10.00 an hour. I would pretty much run jack legs and slushers all day. Most of my day is spent at work, but my morning is spent at the gym doing cardio and my evenings are spent at my house lifting weights. In my down time, I either read, hang out with friends, or sit in front of the computer typing in this forum. I might get a job during the school year, but the way my schedual is looking, that might not be beneficial.

i live in a 5 bed terrace house on me own for the minute, work in the gallery nightclub in york behind the bar, my income goes on bills and dvds...not really that much on alcohol cos i'm working 6 nights a week

love working in a nightclub, HAAAAAAATE being a student

considering ****ing uni off to be honest

I live with my parents, have just finished school. Working full time for pretty poor pay, looking for a new full time job.
At the moment im saving most of my money for a snowboard instructor course.
However I spend most of my money on seeing stand up comedy, gigs and music. Ill normally go out with friends into town about once a week.

I live in a cheap, for London prices (£650 per month :/), one bedroom flat with my girlfriend. I currently have 3 jobs - video shop bum, gardner for the rich (nice during the summer) and part-time IT support/tea boy for a geological consultacy. I've nearly finished the first Cisco engineers qualification (CCNA) and am thinking about finishing the last year of a computer science degree with the Open University (but really can't be arsed). Occasioanlly I can hear a career beckoning, but have managed to avoid one thus far (i'll probably 'knuckle down' and become a network engineer at some point, or a zoo keeper). My better half has a good job and is pretty rich - which kinda makes me a kept man :)

In my spare time I like to bum around and watch movies, play games, snooze, and think of new and filthy things to do to my long enduring partner. We have ambitions to move to Brighton, never get married, have two kids (Jim and Bob) and get really old.

I'm 17... I spend my money on clothes (but I rarely ever have enough money)

Most of the time I'm practicing the piano and sometimes I draw while listening to music...

I have friends but I don't go out with them often, similar to the Brick...

I don't have a girlfriend and don't plan on having one for a while :D

and finally on weekends I'll watch a movie.

Live in my own 3 bedroom house, on my own.

Get my money from my job as a Project Manager for a multi-utility company.

Money goes on bills, a few groceries, lots of alcohol, bills, goin' out getting pissed, clothes, bills and 'stuff'.....oh and bills.

Spend my weekdays working, weekends shopping / working on my house / chillin' (i.e. recovering from hangovers).

Tend to go out drinking / clubbing just saturdays and/or fridays nowadays (i miss student life). Rest of my nights are spent at home or at friends watching tv / listening to music / browsing t'internet etc....

I live with my parents. I go to school. I work at home for my dad doing video-editing stuff.

I spend my weekends with friends, usually either hanging out or playing D&D or shit like that.

Fun life.

I love going around my mates house and pwning him at Halo 2...ah.

I just moved out of my parents house, and am now living in hot as hell Florida. I have a 2 bedroom apartment and am living with a roomate. We both moved down here because were are taking the Computer Animation course at a school here. Its funny because we met online like 2 months before we moved down. Was quite a gamble, but we are pretty much best buds now, so it worked out perfectly.

Most of my time is spent in classes at ungodly hours. I am in classes every other day from 5pm to 1am, and then the next day am in class from 9am-1 and then back for lab at 9pm-1am again.

Free time is spent sleeping, or computer animating :P. I love this shit so much that even after 8 hours of it each day... I come home and keep doing it.

Whenever im not doing any of that... I usually have friends over for a movie, or go over one of their houses for a movie. Other than that, we dont have much time to do anything else.

I get my money from a loan, financial aid, my grandpa, and my parents. Plus I saved about 2 grand from working at CompUSA... which thankfully I will never have to do again. I spend money mostly on food, since I dont drink or "party". I wear the same clothes that I had like 3 yeard ago, with some new bits.

I also spend money on fun little things, like Snakes on a Plane movie posters, Flogging Molly CDs, and games.

EDIT: Oh, and I also spend money on CRAZY ASS electric bills. $250.00 for electric between me and my roomate.... THATS BAT-SHIT INSANE.

Im the same as Badger apart from I come home every holiday and also I live in a house... (yes it is a house) with 14 other people in it D:. Super win. Im £180 into my overdraft at Natwest and im just waiting for that sweet, sweet loan payment come late September :D.

I live with my parents. Life is good. I work, decent job for a person of my age... I spend money, lots of money and I pick up dough from my parents too. On food, clothes, things for my car. I'm just straight pimp.

i'm 19 and i'm nearing the end of my gap year, i've worked on it doing various jobs.

i spend my moneys (yes, i have more than one) on clubbing and clothes mostly, and more recently a DS and stuff for it to eat. also girlfriends are not bank account friendly. they suck.

soon gonna be doing film, just found out my old sex buddy is also going to the same place for uni.. i hear she's shaved her head, alas there's no myspace page so i can't stalk her.

oh and just handed out way too much money for a flat share.
