I can't seem to get light_environment to work at all in my map.

There are no other problems with the map, no leaks, etc.

What happens is as follows:

1) There appears to be SOME light outside, as models are lit up, and the sky is bright, however, no outside textures are lit.

2) When standing outside, looking in, some select textures are lit up very bright, too much brighter and they would be white. The textures I am talking about happen to be custom textures that I have made. All other textures are pitch black.

When you are in the doorway, these textures change and have a decent look to them, however, lighting is distributed evenly across the whole texture, nothing different depending on the distance from doorways, etc. Also note that the rest of the textures still appear black.

Once fully in the room, even those unlit textures disappear and you are left in complete darkness(except for your trusty flashlight, if you choose to use it). Models indoors remain lit regardless of where they are, where you are, etc.

3) One final note is that the player's weapon is properly lit throughout the entire process. When outside, it shines fairly brightly; when inside, it becomes dark, but still visible.

Can someone help me with this? It's been very frusterating ;(

Current settings on my light_environment include brightness set to 1200(I've tried every number from 200 to insanely high numbers), and pitch set to -80(I've tried everything from -90 to 90).

redo your skybox, and your enviroment light, make sure youve set its pitch angle at a minus value, max brightness is 440 anyway, so any higher than that wont make a difference, make ambient lighting around 60 to 100 . and recompile it, see if that works :).

most importantly, remaking the skybox. Im guessing its a 3D skybox..?

Do you have to have more than one env light or will one light a small multiplayer map? Also say if you have a clear wall (makeshift window) do you need to put env lights inside near it?
