...It's just that there is so much dumb crap when there doesn't have to be. It sounds like they are over-mulitasking themselves. They are trying to fix steam like a mad mofo so they can sell HL2.

I realise that steam once again is the BOTTLE neck to our problems. People useing stolen keys and credit card fraud to steal games digitaly.

Don't they realise that steam is so vulnerable to stolen keys. I could own all Valve games with a simple CD-key gen. Once people crack HL2. (AND THEY WILL) they will use the reverse engineered CD-key gen to get as many HL2's as they want off steam.

It's so lame I don't know what to say.

And then Valve will crack down on them, delete their accounts, and upgrade their own security. Like they have been for a while.

they should stop ****ing giving out "dates" when they say it will be ready. After the 2003 dealy thye said " march" then "summer" then "mid to late september".

just do what id do and say "when its done!"
They only gave one release date. Everything else was either something Vivendi said (that means it wasn't Valve) or it was something that at the time Valve thought was correct.

EDIT: Oh and Valve has to give a date. They can't just say "when its done" and then suddenly release the game. There is far too much that has to be done with Vivendi that involves publishing to simply not give a date. Most of the time with these games it isn't even the developers that will give a release date, its the publisher.

you say "...or it was something that at the time Valve thought was correct."

i dont beleive valve thought it was correct. They definitley knew 30sept 2003 wasnt correct but still stood by it up until the week before . I dont beilive they thought the other times were correct just did it for pr reasons.

Also the release date for IDs game was "when its done" then thye released it quickly by surprise almost. Even tho it sucks :|

anyway i hope hl2 comes out b4 november :(
