Lighting Help !!

Alright im ready to blow up hammer. I dont know what the F im doing with the light. The map is basically a remake of poolday but for source the textures are mainly marble and everything is so damn shiney!! The light environment will either be bright or the dark. When bright you cant see a damn thing and dark the textures are like a mirror.

PLEASE HELP I FINALLY GAVE UP ON TRYING MYSELF!!.

light env has three keyvalues to control its lighting. they are defined as Red, Green, Blue and intensity. RGB values range from 0-255 and intensity can be anything you want.

If map is too bright make sure that you dont have a leak and if not then just lower the intensity.

Light enviroment only emits light from the toolsskybox texture so for any other lights you have light and light spot entities which are controlled the same way.

The shinyness can unfortunatley not be changed unless you want to make new materials.
 
You need to build cubemaps when you play the level for the first time..
Once the map has loaded bring up the console by this button "~" and then type "buildcubemaps" i think thats the command anyway. Once the cubemaps are built exit the level and start it again. When you get back in your level all the shine should be fixed
