Little hl2 benchmark (unofficial) !

hi i found a small benchmark for hl2 but its unofficial and it just tells u if the game will run or not.

question is if 256mb graphics memory will do HL2 any good.. In todays games it has shown very little improvement in resolutions up to 1600*1200.. If any at all.

The only way for a test like this to be worthwhile is if it could give you a target resolution and FPS or something. The fact that it bases your how good your video card is on how much memory it has is BS. I agree, this test blows!

There's nowhere near enough info out about HL2 systems to make a test like this worthwhile.

Now if Valve were to create on, that would be cool :afro:

in your guys opinions would a 2 GHZ P4, ATI Radeon (The one shipped with HL2), 256 mb ram would run it?

The RAM would bottleneck it. Get more RAM, and it could use a better CPU. Instead buy a Abit NF7-S mobo, Barton 2500+(Probly less expensive and better then the 2.0 P4) And get another 256mb of RAM.

upgrading to 512 ram from 256 definitly gives you higher fps, but after 512 you dont get much mroe fps fomr your ram. How ever, the more ram you have, the faster your shit loads.
