This game is being made by a team of people, not a game design company ... it has been in development for a long time and gets incremental updates. The screenshot shows S2, the next major update that is coming out soon. S1 has been out for over a year now but is still an awesome game in itself.

Live for Speed features very realistic physics and car simulations... (the dynamics of the inner workings of the engine are all modelled accurately and you can tune almost everything on your cars)

It's not free but it's definately worth the money you pay for it ... and if you don't believe me, you can play some of it for free (without having to enter the unlock serial)

Check it out if you haven't already anyway, S2 is looking sweet.

I've played the demo and been a S1 member since release and IMO its easily the most accurate car simulator available on a PC.

Its definately worth trying the demo! But you'll need a wheel and pedals to really appreciate the physics.

Another screenshot because it looks so pretty :) I can't wait for S2 to come out, but what you said is right... You do need a wheel and pedals to get a true feel for racing in this simulator, otherwise you shouldnt waste your time downloading it.

*pats his force feedback wheel* :D

One thing I forgot to mention is how great this game is as an online multiplayer ... Drag racing is awesome too, you can spend hours tuning your car to get it running perfect and then wipe the floor with people on the quarter mile strip :D

Ok I have to ask what car is that in the first SS?

None of the cars are 'actual' cars ... as I said, the simulator is being built by a team that don't have the benefit of having a large budget to buy licences to put real cars into the game ... however, the team was smart and build 'hybrids' and take bits of loads of different cars and slap them together in to one car.

The car in the first screenshot is the basic mid engined roadster layout (RWD) and has styling bits nabbed from the fiat spyder, renault spyder, VX220, etc.

The green car in the second screenshot is a front engined RWD car like the aston martin / ferrari 550 / etc so the styling and handling reflects those cars.

Thanks my good man!

*hugs*

I think the cars are based around real ones, such as the FXO (an FTO lookalike) etc... sort of like GTA. :)

It is really realistic, but even if you don't have a steering wheel, still check it out, it can be very fun with the mouse :)

Sweet jeebus... i'd not seen that video before... now I want S2 more than ever!! :O

holy whack! those graphics are amazing! very soon we won't be able to differentiate between comp and real.... *shudders*
